The alien invaders show no mercy, and neither should you.
Hack, blast and vaporize your way into the heart of galactic evil with devastating firepower. Battle through the ravaged hulk of a massive starship, protect an alien colony under siege, face the unknown on a treacherous volcanic planetoid and assault a host of insidious alien strongholds. Where diplomacy fails, the Hazard Team thrives.
Engage in an epic conflict alongside your teammates. Missions include both solo and team-based gameplay and range from creating all-out mayhem to stealth infiltration.
Vaporize your opponents in fast-paced multiplayer games such as deathmatch-style Holomatch, Disentegration, Capture the Flag, Action Hero and many more.
Fire at will with over a dozen advanced weapons including the Tetryon Gatling Gun, Advanced Grenade Launcher and Assault Rifle. All weapons feature a secondary firing mode.
Don't waste your money, the game irrepairably crashes upon launch.
Pity, because what I played of it was really good, but if there's no intention of fixing this, then there's no point in giving it anything above one star.
Black screen, flickering cursor in the top left.
So just finished Elite Force and wanted to play it's sequel, only to find out they're forcing you to play as the male Alex and have completely removed the female option of Alexandra. I'm on not a fan of sequals doing this, not everyone played as the male option. In a Star Trek franchise game which is all about equality this seems a poor choice to remove the option in a sequal.
Then it started crashing, found out it was because I set the graphics too high. I wanted to love it, but looks like the developers were lazy with character options and something doesn't like modern computers.
I looked for mods that added back in Alexandra, was hoping with AI voicing someone would have done so already. It seems there's a really old one thats texture only on gamefront, meaning still have the male voice, and apparantly the reason why they deleted Alexandra was to add in a Alex being able to romance one of two female crew members but uh why not let Alexandra have a romance option too, apparently it's just a kiss at the games conclusion so nothing major. It does however have mods to improve the graphics.
Right now, I just feel this sequal is in a different timeline. Sigh
The original Elite Force was a fun little shooter , kinda short but had a good story and fun mechanics.
This by comparison suffers from modern game syndrome.
Lots of stupid secrets in the most obscure places.
Lots of stupid dialogues where a wrong choice results in a game over - no really.
A lot of STUPID escort quests where you have to protect an NPC or they die and the mission is failed. It is not organic gameplay , it feels forced and out of place , or simply put , NOT fun.
I wondered why i liked the first one better , and know i remember.
Despite the enhanced graphics , the gameplay took a few tumbles down the stairs and broke a few bones.
It's playable , but not fun.
The multiplayer works fine with Hamachi though , so give it a go with friends.
an interesting sequel, good story, mostly improved graphics and gameplay (although having some issues, not being optimized for modern machines). the bonus levels were fairly disappointing.
I loved this game back in the day as well as the first game. Bought them both here immediately snd blasted through them last night! As good as I remember.
Side note: does anyone know how to get the cheat engine to work with the GoG version? I remember having a blast with the cheat codes on subsequent play throughs way back when.
