Captivatingly creepy landscape.
This is, by far, one of the best games I've played in 30 years of gaming. Part of a S.T.A.L.K.E.R trilogy, this was the most bug-free of the 3 titles. I was so upset when the decision to drop single player campaign/quest play was to be dropped in favour of multi-player. Since the announcement, the developers have created no more games in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R genre...What a tragic loss.

The crown gem of the STALKER series
While I only have praise for this awesome game, I must, instead, tell you to play SoC first. Play that. Then, if you liked it, play CoP for everything you hopefully liked in the first one, but more of it. (also avoid the misery 2.0 mod unless you like artificial difficulty such as an ammo vendor only having maybe two units of each caliber.)
