Spore is a blast the first time around,but not much replay value. It mostly delivers on what it sets out to do.

Good classic but has problems
It's fun to replay a classic, but the game crashes quite often and it's really annoying. It would benefit of some work on it.

Great but Janky
I love the game, an excellent sandbox. But modern versions have not been updated and optimised for modern devices. Account login is terrible, the game crashes and is laggy. The game itself is fantasticly fun.

Good premise plauged by time
The game looks pretty good for a 2008 game, the cell phase is basic but fun, creature and space phase is a blast to play, and tribal and civilization are... kinda bad, but at least they're pretty fast, even after failing the early game in civ, being 1 city to 3 on the same continent, i still steamrolled it once i got the ball rolling. Civ is certainly the worst though, creating 3 buildings and at least 2 vehicles that are just gonna be thrown to the wayside as soon as you're entering the space phase, which was less than an hour playtime on hard for me. But at least the space phase following that is very fun, so i can stand the two intermediate phases being terrible. Sadly, the game being so old, it have some issues on modern systems, you need to do some tweaks to some files and the game is unplayable in 4K resolution, it also don't play well in fullscreen, so you're required to play the game in default resolution windowed mode and use third-party software to make it borderless fullscreen to get the best experience. If these technical issues were fixed and tribal+civ phase was improved, this would deserve a full score.
