Very beautiful OST, which goes very well with the equally good game and which I enjoy enormously. However, be careful, compared to the Steam version, the following music is missing in this DLC.
39 Words of Wiesh 4:31
40 Together for Her 4:20
41 The Price of Freedom 4:44
42 Level Editor 3:30
43 Level Editor (Bonus Loop Edition) 3:04
I hope the devs update the DLC quickly.
The music was my biggest concern with Songs of Conquest.
In these type of games, games that many people end up playing for embarrassingly huge blocks of time, the importance of music can't be overstated. And not just the quality of the pieces, or even the variety, but how well the music sits behind a game; the goal is to have it adding to what's happening in the game, but never becoming redundant by constantly being present. It's a fine line.
I'm happy to say that this soundtrack does just that; I wouldn't change a single track.
As of now, there's only an .mp3 version available, but it is 320kbps, none of that VBR crap, or the insulting 128kbps quality that some soundtracks suffer from (for reference, a cassette tape is approximately 160kbps,) so for all but the audio purists who are gonna dissect the audio through a pair of HS10s while analyzing it with SPL HawkEye, 320kbps should be acceptable.
Great music, but it's missing the new 'boss-type' music themes that play in the new campaigns.
Also, why are only /some/ of these on YouTube? Any collections that I was using for active listening especially for TTRPGs keep getting taken down...
