Old but not Gold

I bought this game because A- it was cheap, and B- I had fond memories of playing this with my brother ages ago. Unfortunately the game is not nearly as good as my memory thought. The game is just awful. -Bullets decide whether or not they hit or do damage. I have been standing face to face with enemies with an M60 and it did nothing despite unloading it into their face. -The AI is terrible. I have shot multiple enemies only to have them continue walking around as if nothing happened. -The voice acting is just as bad as the story, though to be fair it was the norm for the time. -Level design is bland and straightforward. -Probably the only good things are the incredibly fast reload for the M60 (its like one second wtf?) and the gore.

one of the best Mp games ever

I have played this game on and off since launch and its honestly my fave no nonsence multiplayer shooters ever. There are a lot of mods and still a ton of servers to play on. grab it!

not good as the first one

Even if the first impact was quite good for the improved graphics and the nice story,I realized halfway through the game that the spawn of the enemies was ridicolous. Many of the levels are super linear so the programmers decided to add enemies that spawn just behind you, but you will get used to it and turn every time there is a door or a window, knowing that an enemy will come out of it... it became pretty boring, play it just for the story.

Mission style gameplay but more violent

Soldier of Fortune II Double Helix is an ultra violent version of Goldeneye for the PC with better AI. Bare in mind that while this is a squeal to the first with the same characters and setting it has almost nothing in common from a gamely prospective. While the first one was a fast paced run, gun and shooting everything in sight kind of game. The sequel is a tactical shooter with more objective style gameplay and tactical maneuvering. Handling recoil is one of the key components of this game. Most of the time you can set your gun to fire full auto semi-auto and burst. This is nothing new but what is different is that there’s no ironsight. This means that you have to steady your corsair manually and be extremely mindful, of what your trigger finger is doing. But that’s half the fun. It’s a very different experience from the first one but a good one nonetheless. While there are some aspect of this game that hasn’t aged well such as animation bugs and physics collision, this should hold you back from what other wise is a very satisfying tactical shooter, with very decent AI to boot.

Funny game

The game is funny to play and it isn't dead. Graphic ok its old, who cares. xD So for me it's running great and i ihave fun ingame. Especially i like that you can bind text messages with a sound. Never saw this in a other game. :D Unfortlny when you want to play the mp, you need to find fx1 mod or you will see no servers. Conclusion: Its an old game, it's playable, its funny and many to read when you never play it before. :) One star lost because of the Server issue.
