So, here's the thing: I disliked Siege of Dragonspear but I thought I'd give the soundtrack a chance (You get me, right? Separating the music from the game?): don't.
It's marred by cliches of any fantasy soundtrack and is downright disappointing.
I'd say wait for a sale if you really want it.
This should be extra material, like in the classic editions, not sold for 10 euros. They look desperate for money, and in the end thit just worsen their reputation.
Extremely disappointed that this doesn't follow the trend of 98% of other GOG games by being included in the original purchase. It's just sad. And for $10? Nah- not worth it. It's generic and uninspired- exactly what I expect from a Beamdog product.
I recently decided to play BGI again and had a blast with the enhanced edition. Then I hemmed and hawed over getting SOD because there were a bunch of quite negative reviews. A sale came up with a price I felt was worth giving it a try even if it turned out bad. Well.... It turned out GREAT! I THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. Period. Bridgefort was great, the catacombs side adventure was great, the underground river map and all it's parts were fantastic. I think I liked that map the best. I loved the big brawl fights. They were tough, but really fun. Never had battles like that in BGI and I don't recall them in BGII the last time I played it (20 some years ago). It did feel like armies fighting in some of the large battles. Have to keep your wits about you in those. LOVE getting bag of holding! Wish I had one in BGI. I used Corwin until I could get Dorn back. Still like Dorn better, but it was interesting to try a different character out for a bit. My party was my theif/mage dual, a 1/2 orc berserker I created myself during initial party/character creation phase, Dorn, Viconia, Baaloth, & Edwin. Anyway, bottom line, I like it. I felt like it was in the spirit of Baldur's Gate. I believe the story and characters were as "believable" as BGI characters and story were. Can't compare with BGII since it's been too long since I played it and can't remember well enough to say. It was fun. If you liked BGI enhanced edition, give it a try I say.
