Sid Meijer's Alpha Centauri
I failed tests, dropped out of college and disrupted my sleep patterns so badly playing this game i still can't sleep more than 2 hours in a row. This is the game that will destroy your life and make you unable to hold down more than a low-wage job. Not recommended for anyone who wants to live a productive life.

The classic 4x game
The original game that set the standard for 4X games. Total unit customization and functionality are available. Want a submarine stealth aircraft carrier? You can build it in this game. The AI is decent but will backstab you for the slightest advantage. You can't go wrong with this title if you enjoy Civ-style 4X games.
