The not so black sheep!
The Devil's Daughter still is an enjoyable game, yes it has a few gameplay design choices that are less than stellar, but the core is still strong. Holmes as a character is a very hands on individual so an action scene, a bit of stealth and so on make sense. It's not perfect, but hardly something to be angry about. Well worth when on sale, just remember to search online afterwards for the performance fix, it's just to lines in an .cfg file so not a big deal.

Just annoying
I really enjoyed the last game Crime and Punishments. This has so many elements that are similar but so much more annoying. Why did Holmes and Watson get a glow up? I hate him looking like John Hamm now. Too many filler action scenes that just made no sense and didn't feel like I was a detective. Really irritating side characters. Why am I now able to guess wrong on a character observation? Sure I can be wrong but it just left me feeling annoyed that I couldn't redo it. It's like they were trying to appeal to a wider audience but people that love Sherlock Holmes are the ones playing this and want to feel like the original Holmes. Maybe I'm alone in this but had to stop playing once I was suddenly in Disaster day of crises mode. Oh god and that bar scene, piss right off.

A really good successor
With Crimes and Punishments and the Silver Earring is The Devils Daughter on of my favorite Sherlock Holmes Titles. I really like the simplicity and the focus on the story in these three games. The other ones are good as well, but they have a lot of puzzles, that in my opinion not fit the story quite right. The Devils Daughter has a bit more action in it than Crimes and Punishment, but this is not a problem at all, because they are very well integrated in the story. And like a lot of People here I hope that GOG will add "Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments" someday ;)
