Shadows: Awakening – The Chromaton Chronicles leads you to the northern edge of Thole. There lies the mysterious Arcanum Laboratory – a long since abandoned place known for its ruthless and immoral magical experiments. One of those experiments conducted by the Tholean mages involved the baneful energy named Chromaton. It is believed that it has the power to bring inanimate metal to life, but the mages failed to consider the dangers in bringing the unrefined essence into contact with their own living flesh. Perhaps they succeeded, perhaps they failed miserably. The outcome has never been chronicled…until now.

Features:

  • The Tholean Arcanum – Enter the Arcanum Laboratory, a new place that’s challenging you to solve puzzles, complete quests and gather intel about the remnants of the contested experiments executed in the latter days of Thole. Unleash the tortured spirits of the Tholean mages and follow their trail through the shadows to finally unveil their sinister intentions.
  • Living Metal – Assemble the missing pieces of the Chromaton Heart and breathe life into the Chromaton Golem’s metallic flesh: a powerful, all-new puppet with devastating skills.

Very short and quite meh...

The main point of this DLC is an addition of one more puppet. It consists of one small area where you start a quest, then backtrack to previously visited locations to kill a couple of new quest monsters that drop a quest item, bring the items back to the DLC area, use them, fight a boss and add him to your roster. It can also be a pretty massive difficulty spike if you do it too early. That's pretty much it. This DLC compared to the other at least has some story and context lore notes to it but still, an extremely small addition to an already over-crowded roster of playable characters, Definitely not necessary.

Almost useless

This DLC is just one additional character (puppet), available early in the game. It might a bit usefull, when starting new game, but the puppet abilities and damage are terrible. Since I'm far in progress even on Extreme difficulty, it was waste of money, even for 'on sale' price. Should be free!
