Very Impressed
I wasn't sure what to expect with Serious Sam since I haven't played a game in the series before. A friend recommended this to me and we played a little online together and I was hooked. Tons of action, great weapons, very little in the way of fluff. Absolutely LOVE this game. I've since grabbed some of the others. Thanks GOG!!

Great shooting fun
I'm not sure why it took me so long to get hold of this, but when I played it I really loved it. Definitely one of those games which is mostly very fun although occasionally infuriating when you hit a difficult bit. The weapons are on the whole very satisfying although I’d like to have had the ability to alter the order they came up in - for example, for slot 4 the minigun comes up first, but with the minigun's slow warm-up and faster ammo use, I’d prefer the tommygun for tight situations. People are absolutely right to say you need to be fairly tactical, as in the big fights you need to work out how you’re gonna take on each wave. Fortunately there’s no checkpoint-saving rubbish – you can quicksave and ‘hardsave’ whenever you want. I played on the ‘hard’ setting and this was ok for most of the time, though I did have to improvise at times – I discovered if you could get yourself knocked up onto a wall buy a bull, or rocketjump up there, it was a great help. But for the last couple of levels I admit I used cheats a bit – it was just too intense. The final bossfight is predictably rubbish, but overall the Egyptian setting made it a really attractive game, with enough variety in the enemies (though I’d have settled for less variety if it meant no skeletoids and suicide bombers…) and weapons to keep the interest. A good price on here so go for it.

12小时正常难度通关。故事就是物品收集，打怪的不断重复，老套但是爽就完事了。关卡设计有特点，可怪物密集的关卡实在让人心累。游戏场景互动做的不错，树木，火把，雕像等等皆可破坏，其中还藏有道具。听SAM自言也挺有意思，第一次碰到滚石陷阱的口哨就是夺宝奇兵配乐。BEHEADED KAMIKAZE 这怪是真的烦，就不能珍惜生命吗，玩什么自爆。最让人吐槽的一点就是武器的键位设计，都是固定死的，无法自定义，你知道1切8多难受吗？！还有单管双管的霰弹枪都是3键位，两者要按3来换，默认是双管，再按下3才是单管。单管散布小，中距离打得舒服，可是切换并不方便，类似的还有共用4键的冲锋枪和机关枪。 这款老游戏总的不错，我对之后的SS4充满期待。

Confusing difficulty levels
Serious Sam is seriously fun but the difference "easy" and "normal" difficulty levels is way to big. I feel almost immortal on "easy", but I have to resort to cheat codes to beat certain areas on "normal". I am experienced FPS player (though maybe not the most skilled one ;P) and I was slightly surprised by this.
