Repetitive and Dull

This is a pretty but bland game with little story and bare-bones combat mechanics that requires very little tactics or strategy. You run in your squad, target an enemy, he dies, you move on. This coupled with the fact that the objectives vary very little from area to area makes for very repetitive and boring game-play. The story is practically non-existent and provided through little mission briefings and data terminals. These tidbits describing the game world are mediocre at best. There is also a stealth component within the game that boils down to running around, disabling some terminals and avoiding enemy vision cones. It fails to provide any sort of challenge or tension that is common within the stealth genre. Overall I didn't find this game to be very enjoyable: the combat is very simplistic and too easy for my tastes, missions lack variety and there is no story to speak of.

Constant Frustration

This is not a Syndicate game in any way shape or form. This a Commandos clone. If you want that, great. But I was expecting a spiritual successor to Syndicate, where violence was a valid, and usually necessary, means to accomplish a mission. Stealth in this game is mandatory; getting spotted will call a never ending supply of guards that will always be better equiped than your agents, and you will die. Guards are complete bullet sponges and you can not directly control your agents gunfire, only designate them and targets and watch as 70% of the bullets miss. Stealth options are paradoxily limited, with only your starting pistol capapble of doing a one shot stealth kill, only one agent being capable of a silent melee takedown, and sprinting eating all of your agent's energy in 2 seconds. Visuals are excellent. Music and repititive and forgetful. All and all, another Kickstarter disapointment.

No Spiritual Successor

No usable vehicles, no environmental destruction, no 'weird/crazy' weapons/gadgets like Syndicate, semi personalized characters, no world/corporate domination... group feels like petty armed thugs running around the 'dead' streets killing and stealing with no purpose, not some organised, professional group fighting for or bringing down mega corps working from some secret base/HQ/whatever (I think my 'agents' live on the street, I mean you couldn't assume anything else as there is no home base).... it feels pointless and without meaning. - AI both NPC and character AI is horrible and frustrating. - Bugs, glitches and poor performance still today, which seem too hard for the devs to fix. - Weapons are boring and simple and seriously lack diversity... no strange and weird weapons like Syndicate or SW and weapon attachments are a weak substitute . - Augmentations are weak and boring in terms of diversity/types. - No tactical pause, which is needed with terrible AI path-finding and no combat mode/stance. (anyone remember the 'psychotropic influence bar') - Cities feel hollow and dead, things move around but its no living city. - The environment is beautiful - Cannot configure my agents as they have 'personality', clones/agent are meant to be a base/stock unit I can configure and build how I like but they are pre-defined archetypes I can only slightly modify them from whats forced... imo ruins the whole idea - Game world looks beautiful, but then so does thief2014.... both are lackluster games.

Good game but has issues...

I like the game so far (about 3/4 through the "Downtown" zone) BUT this game constantly suffers from crashes that seam to occur when I save and/or load. I could be the only one getting this but just FYI all my drivers are up to date and my computer is pretty good so I'm going to have to blame the game for that.
