The Remaster this game always deserved!
It's incredible. Skunkape took the 2006 original and gave it a hefty dose of love just where it counts, and I am so thankful for this. The new main menu, the lighting, the new music, the character models. The new camera and controls (pure point & click is now possible!) give Telltale's first S&M season a more pronounced 'classic graphic adventure' vibe. Even my absolute favorite, Sybil Pandemik, has a new head shape and much improved facial expressions. I'm in love again. I'll always have a soft spot for this first and somewhat flawed first Season, as it has helped me through a hard time between my university degree and my first job, so I appreciate how carefully Skunkape polished this game. Telltale's episodes released at neckbreaking speed (and eventually, that actually did break the company's neck). The employees could never look back on their legacy, as the next episode was always imminent. For former Telltale designers to actually improve on what they churned out on release day, I thought it was unthinkable. It isn't, because the designers still love the franchise and their work. Some have gone on to make a bestselling game of their own. Some now work at Valve and make a ton of money. Still they pulled the license from under a pile of rubble that formerly was Telltale and make the Season whole and new (while actually fixing age old bugs). Now, certainly, if the removal of six gags out of ten thousand bothers you so much, you won't have a lot of fun with this game. Honestly, don't buy it. If even the randomized placing of a license plate makes you cry "censorship", this isn't the game for you. If even three foot rabbity things are supposed to punch down in your games instead of up, you sadly won't have a lot of fun with the original either. There's still good news for you though. In 1976, Billy Joel wrote a song with a rad piano prelude just for you. Also, I'm sure you'll get the theatrical cut of Blade Runner somewhere on the net. Take that, "censorship".
