The Holy War is over. The demons of Gologotha have been banished, yet the cost has been terribly high. The Creator, god of the Fyllid, has been defeated and the faith of the people has begun to wane. Petty squabbles among the five remaining gods has caused the land to split into five mystical territories - each at war with one another. Into this divided land steps a wizard, a man haunted by his past, whose choices will shape the future.
Which god will he choose? Will he sacrifice himself to change this world for the better, or will what remains of this world be sacrificed for one god's glory?
Take a journey behind-the-scenes of one of David Perry's favourite games with the Sacrifice editorial.

This game is my old favorate. But Recently i played for a week or so and today i played again and there was an issue were when i want to play campain it would crash after loading screen. Anybody can help?
The game begins with a world in ashes. You and your familiar find the lone survivor, a blind seer, and begin telling him the story of how this bizarrely beautiful world came to ruin.
Were you helping the goddess Persephone lead her forces of nature in instilling this world with order, when a minion of Charnel, the evil god of death and decay, caused your downfall? Perhaps his forces overwhelmed you, and nothing is left of you now but your maggot-ridden corpse.
Of course, that's not what really happened. Let me start again.
You were aiding Pyro, lord of fire and technological progress in paving the way for an industrial revolution that would unite this chaotic world of fantasy under a fiery banner, when the ethereal army of Stratos prevented you from achieving that goal. You were struck down by lightning, and now nothing is left but your charred remains.
Of course, that's not what really happened. Let me start again.
This destruction was brought about by you, and your devotion to slaughter, death, and, above all, power. As a servant of Charnel, you were well on your way to destroying this pathetic excuse for a world, when your climb was haulted by James, earthworm god of peace and agriculture. You will have to return another day, if success is to be had.
Of course, ...
You are given many choices in Sacrifice, and can pursue many different lines of ethos, motivation, and style. "Style" is the word here, in a game that is unique in its visual presentation and unparalleled in its voice acting. Was that Time Curry I heard?
The replay value of the game is off the charts. It keeps me coming back again and again, wondering how this or that choice will affect the inevitable fate of the world -- which I know to be inevitable due to the past-tense storytelling, but this does nothing to diminish my desire to change it. I've played the game many times. I've bought it twice.
Let me start again.
Pros: Incredible plot, style, and ambiance. The graphics were great at the time, and have aged well, into a demented old wine. Can run on a netbook (after a fashion). Replay value is great with so many plot lines and potential motivations to pursue.
Cons: Difficulty scales sharply upwards towards the end of the campaign.
I dropped World Of Warcraft for this amazing game, such a classic yet no sequel, I recommend you stop reading these reviews and buy the game right now!
Iv'e played this game before and it's awesome. Awesome voice actors, great models, and terraforming way before its time.
But does it work on Windows 7 32 or 64 bit? I can't seem to get an answer.
I bought the original sacrifice on the disc, and it is still one of my favorite games. The game is only has ten levels, but there are five different paths that you can take for each level, with the option of switch your path before and sometimes during each new level, giving the game wonderful variety.
The spells are interesting and can be both terribly impressive (being able to summon an actual tornado on top of your enemies) to being actually pretty funny (there is literally a spell that drops a cow on top of your enemies, it's a good spell to, you'll be using it more than a little).
The characters can be both funny and menacing as well (Stratos, Charnel, James, Buta, the list goes on...) and the graphics are flush and vibrant.
This game is filled with interesting and innovative game play mechanics (the titular sacrifices, the alters etc...) and I have literally, that is without exaggeration, played this game at least seven times to the end, and it still hasn't gotten old. If you have a few hours to kill and some money to spare, this is a game I can guarantee you won't regret buying.
