Blowing things up is fun and the gunplay has a nice retro-vibe to it but the story is dull, the voiceacting is terrible and there are som bugs. Can be worth playing through though - it's basically GTA in WW2-enviroment with a lot of climbing and some sneak'em up.
Totally 5 out of 5. Climate, story, graphics, gameplay, everything is perfect. I would say that this is not only mix of GTA and AC but also a Wolfenstein with this little Nazi's science background! Truly amazing experience playing this game. I recomend all of you to play if you do not have a chance to do that. Of course it's not that there are no bug or something. Of course there are, this is an sandbox game. Only one thing in my opinion which could be changed in this game is driving model. It's really not perfect and a way behind GTA. Anything else? Just amazing.
This game is so good. Released in 2009, you'd think it was released later, because it has some really great features that seem like they should belong to only newer games. I was first of all surprised with how good the parkour is. People aren't joking when they say it's kind of like Assassins creed. Sprinting + jumping is also really good.
It does a good job of making you feel like part of the resistance, in my opinion. Because the characters got humor, the artwork is there when you buy items, there's plenty options in terms of how to attack a target, a good deal of the surroundings are destructible and so forth. This is really worth it. Especially if you played games yourself from this period or earlier, like Mercenaries or GTA. Shooting and fighting is fun and personally I like the fact you can not only go stealth, but you can take disguises too. It reminds me of Commandos. It's true what others said about some cracking one-liners haha. Sure, there's too much cliché in some dialogue, like when they say "so I hope you can help me, uhm... Take care of business." Like that kind of stuff.
But regardless, this is a fun little game. I say little, but the map seems huge. If this game were released in recent years, I think it would be really popular. I can sooooo see a sequel. You can also play in Full HD I just found, if you go to More>Settings, instead of clicking Play. But that's not all ! You also progress with your skills, since you earn perks for doing different things. This adds an additional thing to look forward. Such as if you kill XYZ Nazis in a certain way, you may unlock new ways to kill them in hand to hand combat. That's great.
Quite surprised how rare and hidden-gem this game could be. Really like its graphics with weird color and background story, but for a PC Port, there are not enough video settings for customizations. If you really want it, get it on sale on GOG but not on Origin.
It feels a lot like GTA set in Nazi-occupied Paris: A mediocre shooter, a mediocre racing game, and a mediocre stealth game stitched together, with plenty of clunkiness and baffling AI and a nifty gimmick where districts are either in grey and red or full color depending on how much influence the Nazis still have in that sector. If that sounds like fun to you, then go nuts. If not, it's still fun, but it can wear out its welcome depending on how long you can be amused by jumping around the rooftops of Paris blowing up Nazi towers.
