Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood

Me and my brother both played this game and Desperados. We loved both but Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood had always been my favourite (maybe due to it being more forgiving lol). Honestly don't know what else to yap about other than I love the ost, the gameplay and, well, everything else lol. 10/10 this game still brings me so much joy

It's an incredible game, with the great challenge to not kill anybody - I loved that! I got this game from my parents as a Christmas gift. Still my brothers and a lot of my friends, when we meet each other mostly drinking beer we repeat a lot of dialogues/ voices of the in game characters in polish great dubbing. The problem in this version is that there isn't polish dubbing here in GoG version. I wonder sitting in front of my PC in Reykjavik if is it still the same game without my native dialogues.

One of the best 2D tacticals of old. On par with the first Desperados and Commandos, in my opinion.

I have a lot of nostalgia toward this game, though even as kid I felt the game was a bit garbage. And don’t get deceived by positive reviews. This game was released a year after Desperados, and apparently it was made by the same studio – but quality wise it is nowhere near the same level. UI is atrocious, enemies really static with unmoving vision cones, individual heroes really limited in what they can do, mechanics and rules poorly explained (if at all). Presentation took a real hit - the game opens up with couple rough text boxes to set up a scene with you character standing in the middle of the map. Not a great introduction and it doesn’t get better. It also lacks proper tutorials. There are some ideas with potential – there is a bit of economy going on – generic units join you, if you don’t kill too many people and you can assign them to jobs back at the base – so they train, or produce consumables while you are on missions. The game also has some performance isssues on modern systems. If you are into the genre of real-time tactics games it might be worth picking up for curiosity sake, but it’s not very fun or playable if you don’t have some thick nostalgia goggles.
