Risk of Rain is an action platformer with roguelike elements. With permanent death as a primary feature, players will have to play their best to get as far as possible. Fight on a mysterious planet with randomly spawning enemies and bosses, either alone or with 3 friends in online co-op. With over 100 items at your disposal, you will find the tools you need to find the teleporter back home. Discover a myriad of randomly chosen stages, from the desolate forest to the frozen tundra.
  • Risk of Rain is a randomly generated roguelike game that keeps replayability high and fresh.
  • Time = difficulty. The higher the in-game time gets, the harder the difficulty gets. Keeping a sense of urgency keeps the game exciting!
  • No more fussing with complex and non-intuitive gameplay patterns. You can fully enjoy the game whether you win or lose.

Whatever downsides Risk of Rain has are absolutely outweighed by the many things the game does right. The gameplay is refreshing and fun, the graphics are charming, the setting is unique, the music is pleasant to listen to. On top of all of this, there's a slew of unlocks on offer that make the game an achievement-addict's dream, and each of the ten available classes (which, I stress, require unlocking in order to acquire) are wonderfully distinct, giving Risk of Rain some serious replay value.

Really great game

Risk of rain combines rouge game attributes with common run and gun attributes. Providing a game that allows one to level up and get items in a small setting, while still providing a challenge every play through.

Buggy mess, unplayable

Crashes constantly. I can only play for a few minutes before the game crashes. Do not buy.

Can't really play it because it doesn't recognize my gamepad, unlike most other games. Playing it with keyboard is not fun.
