Not recommended.
I've not experienced any problems in terms of stability, and this time around there's a much better offering with lots of extra content, unlike the previous release of Resident Evil on the site. However, there are still issues like a marked delay whenever the player engages room transitions and the music playing as soon as the door sequence animation starts, which is something it shouldn't do. It ruins the suspense! There also appears to be no way of enabling auto aim, a feature the game was not designed to be played without. Some effects look wrong and the cutscenes are heavily compressed, but the framerate seems to be correct. So, I would not recommend this one over the PlayStation original.
