Rayman 2 is The Best Ubisoft Game Ever!

It is a true gem. Haven't played it for years now, but it is good as I remember. Real ordinary fun, from care-free levels to the more complex ones. The challange gradually build up. I hope one day a remaster will happen.

Just emulate it.

A 3D platformer with a compelling adventure. Simple and captivating story. Moderate challenge, even by today's standards. And some really difficult and tedious levels. Some are quite short, others excessively long, however, it's a game that could be considered to have aged poorly and very quickly, but not quite. Some unusual situations typical of the Metroidvania genre may be appealing, which characterizes the game as one of gradual exploration and constant progression, but it isn't. The levels are fixed, the level hub is self-contained, and all levels, starting from the main hub, have a defined beginning, middle, and end. To revisit some early levels, Rayman's power upgrades should help, but they are much more necessary for perfectionists than casual players. The game doesn't have voice acting, but it does have its own character sound effects in the dialogues with subtitles. This helps with understanding. The music isn't bad either, but it works well. It creates an atmosphere of mystery and challenges that combine pleasantly. If you're thinking of having fun like a new, recently released game, forget it, that's not the idea. Play more for fun without worrying about quality and challenges than about graphics. This game doesn't prioritize visual quality but rather the adventure as a whole. Being a collectible game, with many collectibles scattered throughout the levels, for collectors it's an old-school option that will be irritating at times but challenging in many others. The GOG version, unfortunately, doesn't have trophies, but it's part of a program to preserve old games, showing how important these past adventures are.

this is feeding my nostalgia at an alarming rate. game definitely isn't perfect but revisiting it makes me happy
