Are you feeling adventurous, Hero? The world of Gloriana, with all its wonderful diversity, awaits you. In this pack of five classic Sierra adventure games you will create your character (a warrior, thief, or magic user) and set out on a grand journey for fortune and fame! You will solve quests and puzzles, fight monsters, and save innocents.
In the Quest for Glory pack, which contains all five parts of the classic action RPG games by Sierra, you create your own character, choose his class and abilities and then set out on your grand voyage. Quest for Glory games are universally acclaimed as one of the best adventure games ever developed. After completing a part, you can import your character into the next one, keeping your skills and some special rewards you've hoarded, like magic items.
The story is another of the Quest for Glory series' strong points. It's very solid and immersive, with a light-hearted and humorous narrative that will keep you glued to the screen throughout each of the five installments.
Includes both: VGA and original version of Quest for Glory 1.
Venture across five huge worlds, each based on a different culture and mythology, from Germanic fairy tales, through Arabian and Slavic folklore, right down to Greek mythology.
Three starting character classes to choose from (fighter, magic user, and thief). This decision not only modifies the gameplay but also the story, providing for excellent replayability.
You can transfer your character from one game to the next. The skills and wealth you worked for so hard are not lost!

I love these, I have the originals that won't play on today's computers. I purchased and am downloading now. I was ecstatic when I found these and the first one is here! It totally got me hooked on these point and click adventure games. I'll be buying them all, Kings Quest, Space Quest, Police Quest, Leisure Suit Larry is too hilarious, Simon the Sorcerer, I see there is even a Phantasmagoria!
I'm currently playing the Gabriel Knight series and am on the second game. I wish they'd make more Gabriel Knight, and maybe they will, I purchased and played the 20th Ed. of Sins, and the writer and creators are over at Phoenix Online, my fingers are crossed.
In 1989, my dad purchased our first computer, an IBM PS/2 Model 25. He also purchased a brand new game, "Hero's Quest: So You Want To Be A Hero?" with it. I immediately fell in love with the game. It was funny, referenced a lot of the nerdy movies I was watching with my dad at the time, and also had n awesome level of interactivity.
As the series progressed (and changed names thanks to Milton-Bradley) I ended up getting each new iteration, and found that they managed to keep making the series better -- Quest for Glory IV is still one of my all-time-favorites, with John Rhys Davies' narration being a major highlight.
Quest for Glory V didn't hold up to expectations (it was too drastic a change from the previous games), but as it stands, the first four games are more than worth the $9.99 GOG.com is asking for them, and QfGV is a nice bonus, and even better if you can find a way to enjoy it.
These games belong to the list of the top classics: QFG 1-4, Lands of Lore 1, King's Quest 6, Legend of Kyrandia 1, Full Throttle, Simon the Sorcerer 1 & 2, Warcraft 2 & Death Gate.
So, I discovered this little gem on my dad's computer when I was like 5. He had the first three games, and he didn't know anything about it. It came in some bundle he bought.
Needless to say, I lost countless hours playing this series over and over and over again. My brother, sister, and myself would take turns trying to figure out the countless puzzles. My sister would do all the typing for me in the second, and I would tell her where to go.
It is so easy to get lost in this mythical land of legend. It's also so easy to make mistakes. Be careful however. In this world, if you make a mistake, there is no way to go back and change it. If you choose something wrong an hour into the game, you may end up not beating it. (Stealing things from the potion maker=being kicked out of her house=No dispel potion for game finale.)
This series is so classic. Im so excited to lose more of my time in it all over again :)
