Are you feeling adventurous, Hero? The world of Gloriana, with all its wonderful diversity, awaits you. In this pack of five classic Sierra adventure games you will create your character (a warrior, thief, or magic user) and set out on a grand journey for fortune and fame! You will solve quests and puzzles, fight monsters, and save innocents.
In the Quest for Glory pack, which contains all five parts of the classic action RPG games by Sierra, you create your own character, choose his class and abilities and then set out on your grand voyage. Quest for Glory games are universally acclaimed as one of the best adventure games ever developed. After completing a part, you can import your character into the next one, keeping your skills and some special rewards you've hoarded, like magic items.
The story is another of the Quest for Glory series' strong points. It's very solid and immersive, with a light-hearted and humorous narrative that will keep you glued to the screen throughout each of the five installments.
Includes both: VGA and original version of Quest for Glory 1.
Venture across five huge worlds, each based on a different culture and mythology, from Germanic fairy tales, through Arabian and Slavic folklore, right down to Greek mythology.
Three starting character classes to choose from (fighter, magic user, and thief). This decision not only modifies the gameplay but also the story, providing for excellent replayability.
You can transfer your character from one game to the next. The skills and wealth you worked for so hard are not lost!

While mostly focusing on Adventure game elements, the QFTG series allows you to customize your player, advance his skils and choose different paths to solve puzzles and reach the endings.
It is also quite non-linear with regards to how you can proceed with the story and the player can take his time to practice his skills, choose the next quests to pursue and explore the world by day and by night.
I like the first game the most, which is also the most original and pioneering game of the series, and it's great that GOG offers its original version with the free-to-type-in commands.
Definitely worths its money.
This series was one of the rare gems of the early PC age. Though only Part 2 still has the origional interface, the spirit of the first game was upheld and emboldened with their changes.
The spirit of the games remain the same, all these decades later. Not only was it one of the first games to offer multiple class selection, it also allowed one to "spend points" to increase stats before even starting.
From Part 2 onward, a fourth class opens, the Paladin. Add into this a rich tapestry of story, memorable characters and locations, and this series is one of the best puzzle rpgs to date.
I love all the old Sierra games and was collecting them as they were being released for Windows 7. I've been waiting years for them to release Quest for Glory, it seemed like every year this is the one that was skipped over. Finally I can play it again!
Quest for Glory has a great story to it that builds with each sequel..The puzzles aren't too challenging for those already use to sierra's styled puzzles. I also love the Characters and seeing the game get more and more polished graphically as new technologies were born.
This is positively a wonderful adventure series. . .
QFG has a very dear place in my heart. I grew up playing adventure games, and most of Sierra's lineup. QFG was one series that stuck with me, and even now, 25+ years since the first one, I still play them. New games may have graphics, but these games had soul. They made you feel like a hero, they has stories that made you laugh, and could make you cry. I own the anthology CD, and I also own the originals. I resurrected them yeas ago via DOSBox. And here I went and bought them again, to have one package, and no longer have to worry about finding the CD when the mood to play them strikes me again.
Thank you, GoG, for bringing back one of the best series ever made.
Now this is what we got computer games for back in the day. As a fan of role playing games, I love the RPG aspects of it to go with the adventure aspects. Lots of questing to do, and like any adventure or RPG, SAVE OFTEN! In Quest For Glory IV, we visit (and this is not a holiday joke) the Burgomeister and yes he is grumpy. If you have kids, you will laugh because it is a reference to the Burgermeister Meisterburger from Santa Claus is Coming to Town. I laughed so hard when I started playing and encountered him. Great series very worth it.
