Funny platformer

Psychonauts was one of the few games I bought as soon as it came out. I like Tim Schafer's games and this one looked like it would not disappoint. Well it didn't. I laughed a lot with this game. I also love the visuals. It reminds me of characters from Tim Burtonsj book The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy. The level designs are very well done as they seek to represent the mind you have entered. I do remember at the time that reviews suggested using a gamepad as it was hard with a keyboard. I never tried the keyboard so I can't actually verify that. It was fine with a gamepad and I just had a simple one. Oh, and I belive the main characters voice is done by the guy that did the voice for Invader Zim which is a nice bonus as he does a good job at cracking me up! BUY NOW!

Entertaining, smart, creative, addicting

Tim Shafer. Full Throttle. Grim Fandango. Psychonauts. If you don't know Tim Shaffer or any of the game I mentioned above, PLEASE buy this game to actually find out how the original, creative, mind-blowing game should look like, because you have a chance to play a true masterpiece of game design. If you do know Tim Shaffer, and / or any of the games I mentioned above and haven't played Psychonauts yet, then I really don't know what are you waiting for :).

Work of genius. Show it some love.

Reviews below list plenty enough reasons why Psychonauts rocks. Unconvinced? Let me add three words. Tim - Fucking - Schafer. Show some appreciation to this best writer games ever had (Monkey Island 1 + 2. Day of the Tentacle. Full Throttle. Grim Fandango. Psychonauts. Brutal Legend. Costume Quest.)

Magnificent, original game.

Psychonauts is a truly original, fun game filled with humor. Interesting concept, great execution, original and interesting environments, good character development. You are bound to find a character that you'll say its like one of your friends (or enemies) A must have game.

Wow

You know, I absolutely loved this game. I had never heard of it before GOG, somehow, and I picked it up on a whim. It is just oodles of fun. Your character is at a training camp for Psychic kids. Each level is the mind of another character, where you fight against their neuroses, hidden memories, or other mental blocks. There's a little bit of puzzle-solving and a lot of jumping and running around in cool environments. There is a lot of exploring you can do on the side and lots of collectibles to find. (Make sure you find them early or you may get caught up in ENDGAME, which is surprisingly long, and be unable to go fetch them.) Meanwhile, in the actual storyline, your character is constantly learning new tricks that make moving around even more fun. This is a little weird because it makes most of the game feel like a tutorial, and then THE END happens. The difficulty ramps up a LOT in THE END. One jump in particular was very hard for me. I tried it off and on for two days and finally had to watch a Lets Play on Youtube very carefully and memorize the exact movement. There was a patch released recently that decreases the difficulty of this spot. It appears to be only available unofficially for the GOG version. Whether you have it or not, it is possible to complete the game. Just keep trying!
