Project Wingman is a combat flight action game with an emphasis on polished and refined gameplay, true-to-its-roots inspirations, and an engaging single player experience. Dogfight, strike, and fly through combat zones based off an alternate history of Earth. Either over the cold waters of the Bering Strait, attacking tanks in the brutal environments of Yellowstone magma fields, or diving through the Redwoods to strike targets of opportunity in the Pacific Northwest, across the oceans, above the scarred lands of the world, this war will take you from exotic battlefield to exotic battlefield, all while going up against odds way above your pay grade.
Pure Combat Flight Action
Exotic weaponries such as railguns and geothermal-powered armaments will be ready to pluck you out of the sky if you're careless. Whether you are an attack aircraft pilot, skimming the ground with a gatling gun and rocket launchers attached to your wing, or an interceptor with long range, almost sniper-like missiles at your disposal, it will be up to you to prove yourself as an Ace pilot.
Conquest Mode
In Conquest Mode, fight in an uphill battle against various bosses and ace squadrons in a territory capture game, drawing elements from roguelikes and RPGs. Players will have to earn enough money to not only purchase new aircraft, but build a mercenary army of their own in order to take on waves of increasingly difficult opposition as they struggle to take on a myriad of changing missions.
Virtual Reality
Virtual Reality headsets will work in-game to put the player in the cockpit of aerial warfare, immersing themselves in head-swiveling combat. Combine this with full compatibility with HOTAS peripherals and custom axis curves, and you will be able to experience the game however you want, using any DirectInput supported peripheral you like.

Ace Combat 04 is back.
Project Wingman is a fantastic recall to AC04. The visuals are nice (not quite as clean as AC7) and especially the explosions are fantastic. Controls are good and you feel right at home if you ever played an AC game. The story is also just as stupid as in AC, but you can luckily skip it and get to the action. Overall, well done. Money well spent.

Fun & chaotic just needs 1 or 2 tweaks
TLDR: Worth a buy if you enjoy arcade style flight sims. You'll feel like a badass without needing to dedicate large chunks of time in each sitting. VR Reverb G2 only review: My first real go at an arcade style air combat game since the 90's it'd have to be. The good: -You can be loaded up and flying a mission within a few minutes which is great for those of us who have limited time available for gaming. -You can pull off high g maneuvers without ripping wings off -Pretty much straight into the action -Visually quite nice to play The not so good: -Some of the mission info on screen is a bit distracting and at times unhelpful. I encountered "Return to mission area" while dogfighting, but had no idea what direction the mission area was. Unsure if i got shot down, or I was out of the area too long because I got kicked from the mission and had to restart. -HOTAS control binding seemed a bit fiddly, -When given instructions to land, you're told to brake when you land - there's no brake key binding I could find. I still prefer the more advanced / in depth simulators, but this is a good change of pace for some good ol casual mayhem

Light The Fires And Kick The Tires!
A fun, no-nonsense flight combat game. I'm more used to sim games like Elite Dangerous and older Mechwarrior titles so when I say that this reminds me of Armored Core titles, don't take it as an insult! It runs like butter, looks more refined than it has any business being for the asking price...and then there's the combat. Fast, frenetic, intense but not overwhelming - somehow Sector D2 managed to make an arcade sim that feels great with my HOTAS and an Xbox controller! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to fly my *ahem* not-an-F14-but-is and blast some Kenny Loggins while I don my Raybans and kick some Feddie butt!

Like Ace Combat... but better (sort off)
When I started playing the game I thought it would be just another Ace Combat clone, with a poor technical aspect and a gameplay without aspirations. How wrong I was. This is by far the best airplane arcade game since the golden age of Ace Combat back in the distant days of PS2. This game breathes love and passion for what made the Project Aces series great, and is the best tribute fans could make for other fans. Not only does it take the best from the classic gameplay of the series, but it also incorporates some new features that are more than appreciated. The story, without being a candidate for a Nobel Prize in Literature, is gripping and satisfying. The graphics are not stunning but they are satisfactory and fulfill, thanks to the art style, to deliver a credible world and some scenarios that surprise for their immersiveness. Finally, it is inevitable to compare it with Ace Combat 7, and although it is inferior to it in some aspects (such as graphics), it is far superior in others (story, characters, game modes). If you are hesitating to buy it, you don't have to, it is a tribute to the saga and the best arcade airplane game of the last decade (yes, it is better than Ace Combat 7).Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
