There are a few different modes in Project Hospital:
Tutorial levels will guide your through the basics of treating patients and running hospitals.
Sandbox mode offers endless hours of content, building anything from small clinics to huge multi-storey hospitals, starting from scratch or in one of pre-built hospitals or clinics in case you want to jump straight into management. Run you own ambulance service and help handle events and emergencies.
The campaign will put you in the shoes of a crisis manager trying to save a few hospitals in critical state.
6 challenge levels will test your skills and let you focus on the intricate details of individual specialized departments.
I love management games, but this is simply boring and even pointless. I've been trying to "accept" this game for almost four months, but I simply can't.
You just build the required rooms, which you don't even need to design if you don't want to, and that's it. The hospital manages itself. You can leave the game open for hours and it will automanage without issue. A patient or two will die eventually but nothing relevant.
Besides, there are weird things. The doctors and nurses will almost completely stop working at night. Patients usually need to wait until the next morning to receive their medications. What the hell...? What do I want a night shift for if nobody works?
I don't know. I just don't know where the fun part is in this game. There are no challenges, there are no really mandatory things apart from building...
I bought the game about a week ago, including all DLC, andI love the game. And seeing so many 1-star reviews because of a bad launch, I just had to place my own review on here.
First of all the graphics. Yes, they are simplistic, but it does the job well. I had some little bugs, like new employees getting spawning in behind the desk as such, but that is temporary. They just walk through the desk and sit down. It doesnt annoy me that much.
Gameplay wise, the game has allot for you. Ofcourse ya can design your own Hospital, but I was astounded in how much detail they put into this. Do not think you can build a room in a minute and be done with it. The game kinda demands you taking your time with it, making sure that all the necesarry equipent is there. After that, you can dress up the room as much as ya want. You could sink hours and hours into it.
Secondly, I love the fact that you can have a "hands-on" approach when it comes to diagnosing and treating patients. It just keeps me entertained and motivated to keep playing. And with the amount of possible diagnoses (especially with the DLC) there are so many chances of misdiagnosing someone. It keeps ya on yer toes.
Now why is this a four star review and not five? The lack of a GOOD tutorial. Yes, the game has one, but it DOES NOT prepare you for the campaign. The tutorial does not teach you how to approach building new rooms that well. There are three tutorials. The first one teaches you the basics. The second one teaches ya how to build, but its the bare minimum. And the third is a bit slapped together. And in yer first campaign mission, YOU CONTROL A HOSPITAL. Ya have no idea how to unlock new departments, no idea if yer staff is up to par. You go in blind. The fix to this is to download the free Doctor Mode DLC. It has a mission focused on progression.
Overall its a great game. The game isnt easy, but very much worth the price. If ya like a tough management game, give the game a try.
This game has so much bugs. It is not worth the money I lost. Not only cosmetic bugs, this game also has problem with saving and loading, so my hours of playing is lost due to not loading game anymore. Peoples in hospital ignoring other persons, don't interactive with each other - they simply go thorough each other.
Please avoid to release games so early. Next time I will never pay for any game before I test it.
The first time I tried this game I stopped playing after 30 minutes. The controls were so clunky it made everything harder than it needed to be. Once I finally got used to the controls I started to enjoy the game. Look, stick with it - there is a lot of content and the environment is quite detailed. Just don't expect Sims like customisation and building controls.
Detailed, if a little rough simulation of running anything from a small clinic to a massive hospital. I actually like the rough edges i nthe game, but what really draws me in are the details. I also kind of needed a break fro mthe silly side like Theme Hospital and Two Point Hospital so this was an awesome find!
