Best POP game evererer
Best game I ever played, and best art direction Ubisoft ever managed to achieve. One day I hope we get to play the real Kindred Blades that never released and see the final chapter the way the original director envisioned it. The most fluid combat in its time, hundreds of combos to do, and the platforming is top notch. I have seen more Dahaka nightmares than I want to count and I can't recomment this enough.

Best one
Best one in the entire series. Brings back so many wonderful memories. This game is perfection. The story, the mood, the atmosphere and the music. Strongly recommend this game for anyone who loves a good action game

优缺点都很突出的三部曲之一
时空转换和地图连贯设计的是这一代两个最亮眼的优点。在过去和当下两个时空穿梭，探寻时间的秘密，与时间守护者斗智斗勇，与时之女王的命运纠缠让整个流程都带给玩家一种奇妙的体验。而且在游戏的重要节点之前大部分区域是可以自由探索的，在某种程度上可以说算是半开放地图。 另外这代游戏设计了大量的武器和战斗动作，一个动作可以派生很多招式。武器也是加入了几种要素以丰富战斗系统。但不得不说，这代的武器和战斗动作设计有点用力过猛的感觉。 战斗动作在一对一单挑的时候确实很有乐趣，但往往游戏中时常要面对多个敌人的围攻，且地形险恶。敌人的攻击频率高，攻击欲望大（可能是HARD难度的影响），杂兵的血量偏厚（得到狮子刀之前这个问题很突出），玩家只能用防御姿态在叮叮咣咣的高频打击中寻求反击的机会。你想来套漂亮连击？结果是刚打出两三个连击就被偷袭的敌人打断了。而且游戏的视角和锁敌系统的缺陷导致战斗中玩家不能收放自如地脱战，也就是一旦进入战斗模式，王子的行动选择就变得死板僵硬。 主副武器大概设计了几十种，可惜并没有给战斗填加太多色彩。时常出现两种武器之间特点和数值相近的情况，玩家在高频战斗中根本体会不到两者之间的差异性，而且副武器收集还需要玩家捡起武器才算有效，可是游戏又设计了王子只能留一把副武器，想捡起下一把副武器只能将手中的副武器投掷，那么投掷出去的武器就消失了。这就导致玩家一路都在捡武器扔武器，副武器的使用特性也被这个糟糕的收集设计模糊掉了。 再有一些小毛病就是UI设计简陋，任务引导不明确等。这一代试图做出改变，确实能看到育碧下了很大功夫，但从结果来看，差强人意。不能说失败，但也谈不上成功。

Great game with dodgy gamepad controls
I love this game. Had it when it was first released so I'm overjoyed that I can play it again now on GOG. Only problem is mapping it to the gamepad. By default the controls are all over the place. After a bit of work you can get it into a suitable map to play. The only sticking point is that the analogue sticks have an issue where Prince will only run when going forwards, backwards or side to side and walk while going diagonally. Due to the camera angle it can make doing some of the platforming really difficult (due to running at walls being needed to do wall runs or wall run-ups) and requires some camera manipulation to do the required move. Nothing has proven impossible during 6 hrs gameplay so confident it won't prove gamebreaking but just be prepared if you are using a gamepad.

The best Prince Of Persia
All the classic Prince Of Persia games are great, but Warrior Within is on another level in terms of the gameplay. This is one of those rare games that acts as if you have just played the previous game, and starts off challenging from the beginning. The combat and platforming is as tough as anything in Sands of Time, but that's actually what make s it good. Warrior Within has isolation, atmosphere and a fallen world aesthetic. You'll explore the island of time and change the environment so you can traverse it's different time periods. It feels kind of Castlevania-esque. The only negative point is you might get lost and need to think about where you need to go but for the most part you'll be on a clear path. Most of the negativity focused on the "edge" of the characterisation of the Prince, is darker and more gritty than the affable prince from Sands of Time, but he is facing his own imminent death as part for the story, and he has to go on a journey to try and change his fate. In all seriousness, what was considered edgy back in the day would be a selling point for the game now; after Metal Gear Rising and DMCV, I think a bit of emo is actually an asset to the game. If you spend the time to beat it, it may be one of your favourite games. For all the comments about the change in style, it has the platforming completely intact and adds some really nice fluid combat; the best in these games. I think the reason it was considered not as good as Sands of Time actually just comes down to the game being harder. But in 2024, with the likes of Elden Ring, the challenge of the game isn't that steep, now, but when it came out this destroyed players. Now it's just a beautifully realised, yet dark, adventure platformer, which is like nothing else you can play on the market. Give it a go and you will love it.
