Great shooter / adventure

Prey is a great combination of shooter, RPG and adventure. The game feels like an escape room where you constantly have to puzzle how to open rooms for nice stuff or just to advance in the game. Meanwhile you have to be on constant alert for enemies, who can be hidden anywhere. This all is combined with an immersive story and ambience which sucks you up immediately. There's an RPG like skill system which makes ma want to replay the game, since there are many different ways to build your character. And it's impossible to unlock all rooms during one playthrough.

Atmospheric and thrilling

A good game that has a great atmosphere and intriguing storytelling, with a narrative that evokes the essence of the Alien movies. Its a like a mix of Half Life 2 with System Shock, so if you like some things of those games, maybe you will love this experience. Also it has some ocassional good scares here and there, but it´s not too scary. On the side note, this game it´s like a slow burn, because it starts a little slow, but it gets more interesting after you play like 4 hours

The true successor to System Shock 2

If you are familiar with System Shock 2, then this game is right up your alley. Basically you're in a spaceship, and some kind of aliens are taking over and you've got to solve the alien problem. As you would expect from this genre you've got some RPG-esque upgrades and multiple ways to approach situations. You can incorporate more alien powers, but if you over-do it the station's security systems may turn on you. The atmosphere is eerie and interesting, and the station is littered with notes and texts that flesh out the world, similar to Deus Ex. The xenomorph antagonists (the Typhon) don't quite measure up to the Many from SS2 but they are pretty fearsome nonetheless. Any fan of Arkane's other games e.g. Dishonored, Dark Messiah, should also consider picking this up.
