So yeah, if you're under severe stress, want a bit of non conventional humor packed in form of an offline game, this is it. A so-called FPS game that focuses on pissing on NPCs and pissing off NPCs left centre and right (literally), this is it. The only part that does NOT feel like a stressbuster is the Weekend DLC.
Fun Gameplay? Yes
Great Gameplay? Probably Not
Graphics? It's a retro game so I'm gonna forgive it
Who is this game for? Everyone
What is this game for? A break from normal games and life.
I understand there's a violence in this game and animal killing. But too many people whining about it makes me to support more this game. There's a lot of killing and more in ( not even considering hypocrytical society ) other AAA, AA games and etc. But it wont be picked against because of deep pockets. This game is age rated. Even in launch screen its mentioned else if you dont like game style, then refund. This is supposed to be a game.
About game:
Overall fun, later part of game becomes slightly repetitive. But nothing big compared to nowadays game fillers.
Do a quick save a lot if encountered crashes and if you dont want to repeat till last check point. Save system is solid.
Very weird but unique. ALmost are dialogs are edgy, cinematic and weird.
Story wise nothing rememberable, graphics and world partition loading and more are acceptable for the time
If they fixed open world elements and added multiplayer elements with family rated game style. its would be another GTA like series
I played the original version of Postal 2 as a teenager and loved it. To me it was the South Park of video games. Now, in 2024, it's plain to see how the trends, tastes, and technology of modern gaming have left Postal 2 behind, but I'm here to tell you the game holds up anyway. Especially this release, which includes the Apocalypse Weekend expansion. This is great because the expansion extends the story and adds new weapons, enemies, and locations to the mix. There's even an option to play the base game and expansion as one continuous campaign, which makes the new features available in the base game! I hadn't played Apocalypse Weekend until picking up the GOG release, so even as someone returning to a childhood favorite I found surprises and new reasons to chuckle around every corner.
Most technical aspects of the game have aged as you would expect, but Running With Scissors have kept it running smoothly. I played the entire seven days of the campaign with no crashes or glitches. The humor is often woefully dated and likely to offend even to this day, but it's really not something worth getting mad about. The game doesn't take itself seriously, and neither should you. It's a big, stupid, fun FPS with enjoyable weapons, over the top violence and gibs, and the kind of jokes you don't want your grandmother to hear.
I had an absolute blast revisiting Postal 2 and experiencing the expansion conent for the first time.
I regret nothing.
