Experience the relentless adrenaline-pumping action of SWAT firsthand.SWAT 1 was created by the man who developed the real-life SWAT team, former LAPD Police Chief, Darryl F. Gates. The game was designed and directed by Police Quest veteran Tammy Dargan, former producer of America’s Most Wanted.
Inspired by Darryl F. Gates, SWAT 2 continues the tactical realism of SWAT 1 with even more missions and features.
Pack includes Darryl F. Gates’ Police Quest: SWAT and Police Quest: SWAT 2
Training is based on actual SWAT tactics and marksmanship training

If you're after tactical gameplay, playing the SWAT is fun.
Playing a lunatic terrorist however, is way too easy.
You can spray your rifle at the entrance, the moment SWAT enters your door, and you will easily kill off, or incapacitate them. If they're still alive, on the ground, just spray them again till they're all dead.
That was one of the biggest drawbacks. It was way too easy, but I'll give it a 5 star because it was a fun game for its time.
Loved this game when it first came out and am pleased to see it is still as fun as I remember. Its more a point and click game than a shooter, so dont expect it to be like Swat 3 or 4.
One MAJOR issue, is that I cannot save anywhere in the game, between missions, outside of training, during training, during missions, nothing. It seems to be an issue with Dosbox but I cant see a fix for it :(
SWAT 1.
This game is highly reliant on following directions, paying attention, & knowing police procedures.
I was twelve when this game came out & had to have it because I wanted to be a police officer & had studied everything I could, but still it was weeks before I could finish a mission because I was very impatient . You have to hold cross-hairs over doors, give the correct hand signs/radio commands, use the proper tactical movements, know when & when not to flashbang etc. If you take the time to get use to it then can be very fun & informative.
Swat 2.
Not as involved as the 1st. Story mode: if you play the swat you rescue hostages, kill/arrest the cult type terrorist, & secure the site. If your the terrorist your objective is to do various bad things killing swat, hostages, blowing things up & depending on how you do depends on your funding for future missions. In the end the game doesn't care how you do it as long as its done, example you don't really need to leave a rear guard as you clear a house or even go in for that matter on some levels just use snipers to pick them off. The free mission mode allows you to run missions how you like you can use two full teams to clear a small house or one team to assault a terrorist base.
both provided hours of fun (& some frustration at times) highly recommended for those that for the 1st game have a lot of patients & for the 2nd hasn't done this in real life (police &/or military) because you will scoff at how absurdly easy some of the levels make it.
If I realise how old these two games are, I just have to be amazed how excellent they are. Even today they provide wonderful insight into the tactics, methods, etc. of SWAT. It is absolutely right choice for everyone who is interested in how does SWAT work.
Swat 2 needs some obscure third party video plugins, GOG should have the courtesy of providing them in the game's files. Swat 1 also has issues with the save files, you need to manually backup the file or it overwrites when you boot the game and sometimes the saving won't register. Have this installed in an older windows vista PC.
