It's decent, but I expected better!
I had high expectations for this game, but it has many flaws. The initial characters you meet are great and neat. They talk to you, talk to each other, react to things going on, etc. They really add to the enjoyment of the game. Then you start running into the filler. You know, those characters that don't' really have a reason to exist except to add meaningless dlc or some backer's wish. Half of the companions are filler. Some do not even talk at all. Not one word. Some are quite interesting (at least looking), but they don't contribute to the enjoyment of the game at all. Hours and hours of silence if you bring them along with you. This also happens if you stop following Eloas around and finish the game early. I like to steal stuff in these games. Why do I have buy a rogue from the bar or do it with a non-rogue character for over half the game until I then get an under powered rogue to follow me around. Damm annoying it is. Ship combat is the worst thing ever. It's like having sex with your clothes on. Just ram them and let the slaughter proceed. Also no real reason to get another boat. It's just not needed, and you can't crew/use more than one anyway. You also can't salvage a boat. I just killed every single person on this boat, it's better than mine.. and I just leave it there. stupid. I liked being able to upgrade my party's existing gear but where are all the soul-bound weapons? Very few and far between. You know what would be neat, have every companion have one from the get-go. And then when I got a few, there was no time to get them charged up. Same with the guns, took forever to find a special gun or six. It also makes no sense that I can buy a superb weapon for cheaper than I can upgrade it myself. It shoudn't hurt more to use the crafting system. Overall if you liked the first one you'll enjoy this one. It's prettier, but not sure It's what I expected.
