You know it’s the beginning of a bad day when you get stranded on a planet full of grumpy old robots and the only other bus stop is on the other side. Never mind the fact that the way to your destination is littered with dusty space castles, claustrophobic cellars, and vertigo-inducing rooftops. On your way to the next interstellar bus stop, you’ll meet a cast of eccentric, equally lost robots that speaks of the mysteriously absent Major, a staircase to the moon, and a missing bus manager. Who sabotaged the public transportation system? What are those strange noises coming from the moon? Will you ever make it back home?

Pid is a platform-adventure with a unique mechanic - the Gravity Beam. Using the Gravity Beam, you can create thin fields of gravity that help you overcome obstacles, manipulate your enemies, and put yourself out of their reach. Use stealth in order to get past the roving patrols of robots and their inquisitive light beams. One false move and you’ll be caught and the next interstellar bus will go on without you!

Notice: The game fully supports gamepads.

  • Includes 72 Challenge Rooms that will test your wits and skills!
  • The core feature in Pid allows players to manipulate a powerful force that can be used to maneuver around the levels in thousands of unique ways!

Just... too slow

Now, I will admit, it feels like the slowness of the game is deliberate, both to give it a more relaxed atmosphere (and the atmosphere is really good) as well as it probably being the only way to make some of the mechanics workable. But even so, the gameplay just ended up being boring to me. I've played tons of platformers with the same awkward jumping, same sluggish controls, and by now, I require something really, really, -really- special to want to go through what is mostly an outdated way of doing platform mechanics, mechanics that doesn't get better from there being somewhat too far between the checkpoint.

Stupid things...

So much potential wasted... I really liked this one. Shooting orbs to disable gravity in certain areas? Awesome. Make your way through an army of simple robots, using this little trick. Kinda like portal. Though this one has a much friendlier style to it. Why 4 stars? Well, some annoying little things flaw the whole thing. First of all, it's not as replayable as it seems to be. People say it's a difficult game, but take my advice and start on normal level rightaway. The unskippable intro immediately ruins your second playthrough. Also, the beginning is way too easy, you basicalley just walk through the first half of the game. Well, it's fun at first, but when you go on to replay it on a more difficult level, you get pretty damn bored. So yeah, you won't spend many hours with Pid. The other annoying thing is the amount of items you get throughout the game. Yeah, you are forced to use these weapons once or twice in the game, but 95% of the time they're really unnecessary. But yeah, this game is still pretty damn good. Short, but good. You'll probably have no problem enjoying it, but once you try to replay it, you won't be able to enjoy it anymore. I spent about 5-10 hours with pid. Quality time, it was, but i kinda expected more...

Pure Magic

This game is definitively magical. While playing it, I constantly have this nostalgic feeling, as if I was playing a computer game in my childhood. Game design is outstanding, everything fits perfectly into the concept: puzzles, core mechanics, style, animations, sounds, music, dialogues, story. In one word - must play.

I bought this game as part of the "Buy 5 games, save 80%" offer, not knowing how awesome it would be. I dont know how long it would be interesting if played alone - but in COOP - its just so awesome... i really cant describe it.
