Immerse yourself in Ancient Egypt from the age of the great pyramids to the final years of the New Kingdom. Govern all aspects of the exotic Egyptian, culture from religion to trading with distant cities. Cultivate vast farms in the Nile valley and discover the important role this river, with its unpredictable floods, played in the life of the Egyptians. Stone by stone, erect giant monuments - from the Sphinx, to the lighthouse and library of Alexandria.
Manage your city poorly and you shall watch it burn, be pillaged or collapse in economic ruin. Manage it well and ultimately the greatest Egyptian structures will be built in your honor. Your rule will span generations, until your dynasty, your royal bloodline produces a Pharaoh!
Pharaoh includes many features never before seen in a city building game, such as a farming model based on the flooding of the Nile, naval warfare, giant monuments that are assembled over time, unique dynastic progression, and variable difficulty levels. This a massively addictive, huge, but most importantly fun game that is a great choice for anyone looking for a solid city builder title, or an intellectual challenge.

This game is one of those, minute to learn lifetime to master deals. The basics of the game are intuitive, but there is SO much to do and try that it will devour your free time like a 4 year old let loose in a candy store. While I can't judge the expansion because as a child, I only had access to the original, the original alone is worth more than they're asking for this pack.
If you enjoy the sim-city series, or even age of empires two or three, I could not suggest this highly enough.
Would just like to say a big thank you to GOG for putting this up, ive only ever played it briefly but ive played ceasar 3 to DEATH!!
Both amazing games.
I usually never go back to older titles that often (unless it's an SNES RPG or FF VII on the PSX). This game is a true gem, and an exception to the rule, as it's clearly a PC game that's not an RPG. That being said, it goes beyond the "only one more turn"... as it's such an captivating game. It's fairly simple to learn, as each mission teaches you how to play, without feeling like a tutorial or anything of that nature. Aside from that, I remember playing this game for the first time in the late 90's, early 2000's. When I came back to it decades later, I still understood why it was such a fascinating game. I was able to ignore the dated graphics and enjoy the game, as the graphics are an afterthought when playing which you can easily ignore.
I was going to buy this old times sake but thought I'd try my old (old) Disc copy first (Pharaoh only) with no real hope it would run on Windows 10.
Installed and played with no problems, gotta love this game, how many 20yr old pc games do that?
So sorry GOG I don't need to buy this, but if you've never played this I highly recommend it. The interface and graphics hold up, the game never feels sluggish or too dated and more importantly the balance is just right. Each challenge is progressively harder, and requires careful management, and you never feel you hit a wall difficulty wise. I've completed this several times over the years on the hardest difficulty so its completely doable.
I don't know what to directly compare it to but I much prefer it to the Civ Series, SIm City series and Banished.
A real trooper and very playable.
I loved these games when I was a teenager so I was stoked to see them available on here. They work fine on Windows 10 through the GOG Galaxy launcher. It's nice to be able to play games with some intelligence and difficulty to them, modern games aren't made like this anymore. I find that modern city sims or top-down strategy games are lacking depth and nuance, so the replayability isn't there. Not the case with something like. I miss the days of Sierra/Impressions making solid, smartly designed games that offer hours of fun.
