As the leader of a secret organization known only as The Cabal, you are charged with preventing a global conspiracy that seeks to pit leader against leader, and nation against nation. By carrying out secret missions, investigating classified files, and interrogating enemy agents, a sinister plot is uncovered. With the clock ticking, it must be thwarted in order to save the world from an unthinkable fate.

XCom but not even close

I don't know where the high ratings are coming from. PD is average at best, probably even less. The tactical missions are XCom like, but with less tactical deepness. I really like that this game demands stealth (actually this was my reason to buy it), but gives you no proper stealth tools. The shootouts are poor and crucial information is not visible. There is lots of downtime, mostly for useless civilians wandering around like zombies. There is very little variation in the missions. We get a tutorial which covers the tactical part, but not anything else, but THAT's where I would have needed one. The investigations are pretty much clicking randomly on obvious clues. I can see tons of good ideas in this game, from the setting to the content, but none of them are properly designed and the game feels rushed and unfinished. If You look for great turnbased combat, choose XCom. If you look for tactical stealth espionage, choose Invisible Inc. Phantom Doctrine is not terrible, but I can't recommend it.

it's not a finished game yet

crash at app-exit (each time), feels like the release was rushed (yet another one). i should have waited a few months or years. long loading times as well, graphics look great though and basically i like the game but i do not want to waste my time with unstable applications, that's why i removed it, i'll try later then - just in case someone will fix this.

Stuck in chapter one

I have been playing for hours and only get random missions. I am 30 days into cia campaign and no story mission is generated. I have analysed clues, solved dossiers, etc... nothing happens. The objective in the upper left corner states "examine the aguirre dossier". When I go to the dossier, it is completed; I click on it, nothing happens. I have read somewhere that there should be an evacuation mission from Beirut at some point in the chapter; so, maybe the problem is that I have already moved the base to another location? If that is so, it adds insult to injury. What a complete waste of time.

dont like it at all

this game is all like: "oh look, someone wants to shoot me, lets step out of my cover so that he can kill me faster". As a big fan of the X-Com games i really tried to like PD, but i don't.
