This RTS challenges you to a race to acquire energy and create a new home for yourself in a newly discovered galaxy. Featuring strategic terraforming to acquire resources, the game lets you manipulate the landscape to extract energy, expand your base, increase covered territory and limit your opponents' options. In turn, energy extraction provides power to units, buildings and protective force shields, making energy management and environmental awareness the key components to successful gameplay.
In addition, Perimeter's use of a feature called nanomorph technology allows units to be transformed into different strategic elements directly on the battlefield. Teamed with a wealth of missions, structure types, maps and factions, Perimeter delivers unparalleled tactical opportunities ready for adaptation in any gameplay situation.
Beautiful graphics and a very advanced terraforming engine.
An impressive number of versatile units that can transform to best fit the current needs of the battlefield.
A unique and compelling story in a surreal world shaped by dreams and nightmares.

Excellent game. Different gameplay from other rts games like supcom and starcraft.
It's interesting that there is no money. A very good sign indeed.
I can't wait for perimeter 2 to come out.
I don't normally write reviews, but this game is so utterly crap that I feel I have a responsibility to warn others about it.
I set out looking for a good RTS, with a simple and descriptive interface. I did not find that in Perimeter. All I found here was a confusing and boring game with few options and limited controls. Not only are there no descriptions or tooltips for units or buildings, but you only get a limited number of builders, which you have to distribute as either ground maintenance (they call it terraforming, but it's more like watching slow, old ladies working in the garden) or building builders. Seriously, you only get like 5.
Another thing is that your army turns into a blob of tiny pixel-units. Your whole army becomes basically one unit. Even if you have multiple objectives on a mission, you have one blob-unit to take care of everything. Or maybe I'm stupid, and just couldn't figure out how to split them into smaller armies, but as I said before: this game lacks in descriptions, instructions and tooltips.
The story is original, but you just can't make up how horrible the gameplay is. I was so frustrated with this game that I dove right back into searching for a good RTS that I forgot to get my money back for this thing. At this point, I just wish I could remove it from my library.
One of the better RTS games, especially when you consider that it has a nice system. I bought it around when it came out, and it's definitely worth it.
INsanely frustrating and difficult. Not just strange game mechanics, the difficulty settings are BROKEN. You'll making agonizingly slow progess, and suddenly be overwhelmed and out of energy: game over, Again. The weirdo novelty wears off fast, as it consists of just making things elaborately complex, thus slow, thus the computer will beat you to the punch every time. You'll finish maybe four scenarios, and the rest are so hard it's ridiculous. Waste of time. Ripoff game unless you are a sick masochist who loves frustration.
To far off from my normal RTS games. I will try to play more but lost interest really quick. I gave it two stars because it seems like if you spend maybe more then a few minutes trying to learn game play it would be awesome. I just don't have that time. I was looking for a missed game from my glory days that I could pick up and play through in my spare time. This wasn't it...
