A mixed bag

Upsides: Genuinely fun while it lasts. Excellent graphics for its style. Great atmosphere. Great music. Downsides: Fairly short; I finished in about ten hours (standard difficulty), with several attempts on the first mission, two on the second, and one each for the final three. Replayability must come from deliberately choosing weaker/nonsyngergistic party members (and seeing the perks work their wonders on special events). Otherwise, battles tend to be resource drains rather than deadly threats. The final battle is a clear exception. Small variety of enemies. Undead are significantly easier than Nazis for any reasonable party composition. Bugged combat AI; sometimes a couple of enemies will stay passive through the entire battle. General bugs: the second map of the final scenario had a second copy of a party member join in the fourth slot (with a duplicate of his inventory). Probably worth the money after a few patches.

Oversimplified indiana Jones like-FTL

This is one of this games which actual was better 1.5y ago when it was released than it is now! The game is very simple in basically all regards like combat, exploration, story, ... The combat system is a very plain version of X-Com for example: - You always hit if the enemy isn´t behind cover vice versa for the enemys - Every cover gives the same amount of protection - The enemys have next to no special abilitys - No real special enemys like Bosses The exploration system is a heavily reduced version of FTL for example: - Barely any variety of events - Only very few choices during the events The story is uninteresting but the soundtrack and especially the artwork is great! As mentioned at the beginning of this review the game got worse over the duration of the last 1,5y. The inventory/item system also got simplified because it wasn´t simple enough. The difficulty level was lower significantly! I finished the game in my first attempt and only lost 1 guy at the final fight without any grinding ... I mean your guys reach max level at chapter 3 out of 5! I would suggest you only buy this game for 75% off if you have to.

Bought at full price. No regrets.

I had my eye on this game while it was still yet to be released. The graphics were right up my alley, and the theme of Indiana Jones style combat and time period were enticing. I tried waiting for a little while to see if it would go on sale once it came out, but it didn't. So, impatiently, I bought it at full price. I have not been disappointed. Imagine the graphic style from Advance Wars but with a more epic story line like the Fire Emblem series... Only not one long epic story, but multiple story lines with varying levels of difficulty. The smaller events of each story play out differently every play through, but each story's main theme does not change with each play through. This is all in proper rogue-like fashion. Now throw in the 1930's timeline and Indiana Jones like adventure music, and the fact that when your characters "die" they aren't actually dead but KO'd and can be revived and retain all their previous experience from the previous adventure... and you've got Pathway. Not to mention the newest updated added a tone of content. I got this game at full price and am more than satisfied, so if you do catch this game on sale it would be an absolute steal.

Excellent game, dedicated devs

I have this game on another platform, but after coming back to it in october 2019 what did I see? The devs literally changed everything that had been criticised earlier this year. They listened to the community feedback and really did a great job. I can wholeheartedly recommend this game for everybody who wants a light-hearted but well done turn-based combat game with an indiana jones feel to it.

Fuel scarcity hurts it

too random for it's own good. As much fun as it is fighting nazis and zombies and using special abilities, the fact that no matter how carefully you play, you can still run out of gas and not find a place to refuel for half a dozen turns at a time (killing your party) happens a lot more than it should. Because of this, there's no real incentive to explore... any side path you follow means backtracking, so any fuel you find on the way gets used and you're back where you were. It's too bad, because everything else about the game's presentation and story is really quite nice.
