A mind-bending supernatural adventure full of mystery and terror
An intelligent conversation system that changes the story and your relationships based on every decision
A unique radio mechanic that allows Alex to communicate with mysterious spectres and manipulate her world
Story starts boring, gets better and then boriing again. Forced choices (aka no choice), teen drama, lack of gameplay (that one would be fine if the story was more engaging), but the artstyle is okay. Nothing too pretty, but interesting because it's different from most games. It's free atm so no reason not to try it, but I would be disappointed if I paid money for this
Oxenfree features a phenomal cast of characters, gripping story, and multiple endings where you can see how your tale turned out in regards to everyone else. The game is very light on actual gameplay, but the atmosphere and few mechanics there are really bring you into the world. Overall Oxenfree is a rare game that warrants more than one playthrough and is very rewarding for those who like to dig a bit deeper to uncover everything Oxenfree offers.
I played Oxenfree without any expectations, just to explore. I was not disappointed. The story is well thought, and is brought at a really good pace. I liked the graphics, the characters, the idea behind the story, and the radio mechanic.
I would love a sequel (or prequel) because this is really good. Not gemstone like Life is Strange, but definitly a great short experience.

The story of this game is fantastic. The amount of choices and the amount of different responses is overwhelming. The game itself is so immersive and the characters so believable that this game constantly pulled at my emotions. The top notch voice acting really added to that. If I had a certain reaction, my character would still have a far more believable reaction than I did. The horror as you lose someone, the joy as you're reunited, and the anger as things don't go your way. Oxenfree is only four hours long if you take your time like I did, but in those four hours it managed to deliver the best story I have experienced so far in 2017. And that's not just because it's only February, it's also be cause it's just that damn good.
Overall though, Oxenfree is the best game I've played all year. It has some very annoying and glaring issues but also some amazing strengths and I just loved it. As it stands, I have to give Oxenfree an 8/10. It's a great game and a very unique one. Unfortunately it's issues hold it back from being the 9/10 I want to give it. And in addition I just want to repeat, this is a FOUR HOUR game. They're charging $20 for it full price. Is $5 per hour of gameplay a good deal to you? In gaming in general, $5 per hour is usually unthinkable. $1 per hour is on average the highest you see and this is five times that.
While I do NOT recommend you buying this game at such a high price for what you're getting, I DO recommend you buy it the moment it goes on a reasonable sale. This game is a gem, and I don't think it's one anybody should miss.
