I like it but...

Im still in the shanty town. So far I generally like the game but it has some problems. 1. When you need to learn how to do something, the guide shows a finger pushing what looks like a controller button...which I dont have on my PC. So basically there is no way to learn something unless some video happens to show what you need to know. 2. I'm on the 2nd group of guards in the town but every time I restart the game Styx takes off running toward a group of 4-5 guards and they always kill me... He just rushes in. I cant stop him or change his direction until the fight actually starts and by then its too late because other guards are also running in. That's where I'm stuck and Ive basically given up. Sadly, the game is unplayable for me. I dont care about a refund. I'm just done with it.

Little hidden gem

I found this gem by chance. It was cheap and I wanted to know if the Styx series were worth it, so I gave it a try. I'm an old times gamer, and these console 3D ports pretty dislike me but oh man! This game is not the best in combat (It kind of sucks a bit) but overall is a pleasure to play. The story is compelling, the characters are well developed and the script is 'particular', means you will surely enjoy it even some comments may be offensive to someone. I just started it and could not stop until I finished it. It's a good game,not for everyone but if you like orcs, magic and stories get it, you won't be disappointed.

1 Hour Review

Seems to be a good game so far, switching between brains and brawn to accomplish a goal is fun. Each gear upgrade "ACTUALLY" means something unlike in other games. More than worth the money i spent on it.

Disappointing

I really liked the idea, but the combat in this game is terrible. There is no way to avoid fighting so you just have to live with it. It's like the worst version of Dragon Age style combat, where you can almost pause the game and line up a few actions then unpause, but it's really badly implemented. The actions have no weight to them and the hit boxes are vague so it feels like a really unsatisfying sparring match, often ending up in chaos and button mashing. Other than that there's a lot of uninspiring cut scenes with fairly poor voice acting. The game looks pretty enough and ran fine but I would recommend waiting for a deep sale if you fancy giving it a go.

A enjoyable game

I truly liked this game. Not only because of it's well told history but has a entertaining gameplay. The campaing maybe consider a little short but I'm afraid its just me wanting to play it more. As a 2012's release the graphics are outdated to today standards but its not less fun to play. I found some small bugs but nothing worth mention or able to prevent progress during the campaing. Tutorial could be better but controls are not hard to learn. Gameplay is very fluid and you can slow motion the action any time and stack actions for Arkail and Styx allowing you to use multiple kinds of tatics. Progression and economy are well balanced. You loot gear from chests and sacks througth the game or by buing it from vendors when they are available. As a casual player, I had only played it in normal dificulty and i found some good challenges on the way. But nothing a regular player with a little patience can't handle. All and all I consider it a good addition to my collection and recommend it anybody considering to buy it.
