The old gods have forgotten this land. No one could save our people when darkness started spreading and collecting human souls for its army. Odallus is a classic exploration/action game, inspired by Ghosts’n Goblins, Demon’s Crest and Castlevania. Player takes place of Haggis, a warrior tired of fight who must wield his sword once more to rescue his son from Darkness.

A bit too retro, for my taste..

They really went all out on the retro wibe here, copying every god AND bad aspect of the old platformers. But forinstance, the reason enemys respawned on the SAME map back in the day, wasen't bechaus it was so fun.. It was useally from hardware limitations (or sloppy coding),cus no one ever wanted to kill same enemys on the same stage over and over..ever.. no map dosent help either... But for those hardcore retrofans out there with lots of patiance, im sure it's great!

Too difficult.

Well, I made a big mistake purchasing this game. Sure, I was warned (old school, etc). But I can't even pass the first boss. For getting there from the last save point, I lose half of the life - OR I need to train for hours. Do I want that ? Nope. I want some fun, even retry a few times, but not be upset by a hardcore game. Also, you get a limited number of lives. I thought this game would allow for more casual gameplay, but no. Maybe it is casual for a number of people, not me. Please Devs, advertise it as challenging.
