Atmospheric, but let down by bugs
I love the start of this game, and that's when I bought it originally. I was distracted, and in the meantime the redux version came out, so I bought it again (on sale, I'm not rich!). The atmosphere is amazing, really slick art style, and Haur is wonderful (RIP). I checked out the graphics options, and I won't lie, barely noticed ray tracing. There were definitely times missing shadows broke the mood. The story is OK, I was enjoying it, until i had to "observe" memories, which introduces annoying mini games like stealth which I hate, and really unsettling (deliberate) graphic glitches to give you a sense of broken memories, but left me with nausea. I could have lived with this, it would have been a solid 4-4.5 stars. But the bugs. 3 times in just 8hrs I had to load an old save (it does this automatically, nice!) because a door that should have opened remained locked. Or a computer screen that should have shown text was just white. It totally ruins the otherwise brilliant atmosphere. Can I recommend it? If you don't mind the bugs, sure. But this is the redux version - these bugs should have been ironed out BEFORE the graphic update. Such a shame.
