Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.
In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.
Play with all major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Frontiers, Sentinel, Outlaws, Endurance, Waypoint (4.0), Fractal, Interceptor, Echoes, Omega, Orbital, Worlds Part I (5.0), Worlds Part II, Relics, Beacon and VOYAGERS (6.0).
And now with added Cross-Save! No Man’s Sky now supports Cross-Play and Cross-Save between a huge number of platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox One and Series X/S, Game Pass, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PlayStation VR 1 & 2 and PCVR.
Available for PC and Mac (see recommended and minimum specs for details).
An epic voyage to the centre of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.
At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.
Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.
Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.
Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.
The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

Too little too late
I succumbed to the hype train, as an old and jaded gamer I should have known better. Very little of what they had shown or talked about was initially in the game, with some items blatantly being lied or mislead as existing. This is all known. It has been several months not and this mediocre at best game has gotten some updates. Unfortunately these updates have been too little to late. This game should have had more testing and been rolled out as a "beta" as it still feels like they're working on trying to get to a complete game. Not worth AAA full prices or even half pricced.

Not worth it
Its really interesting the first hour, but after that it really gets boring and repetitive. I bought it at a discount at 60%, but not even then its worth its price. In addition to being boring, it runs really bad. Even with graphics at the lowest setting, making it look really ugly, it still runs bad. Maybe its my computer, but why can a game like the Witcher 3 look and run amazing, and the same hardware barely can start up this mostly empty game?

Boring, repetitive, horrible mechanics
I've played for around 20 hours thus far. I'm appalled at the lack of content. And it's not even what was promised vs what was delivered. It's that there's nothing there. Everything you would want in a sandbox game is just missing. The game physics and mechanics are all bland and boring. Flight is an autopilot affair when on a planet. It holds you at a specific altitude so you don't crash into the ground. You point the nose of the craft where you want to go, and it lazily takes you there. You don't control landings, just press a button and it will land. And never in the spot you want to land. See that landing pad. Let's miss it by 50'. The NPCs are non existent. I've seen more characters in NES top down RPGs. The aliens you meet in buildings just stand there. Doing nothing but occasionally waving their arms. They provide nothing to story or gameplay, and simply take up space. The buildings you were supposed to see were going to be randomly generated, and provide endless gameplay. There are around a dozen buildings, all the same, with the same loot inside. There's nothing random about them, as each one is prebuilt and then randomly placed at near equal distance apart from each other on planets. The animals, which were supposed to have some sort of AI, wander around aimlessly doing absolutely nothing. There's a bubble around the aggressive ones, and if you cross it, they will ram you and barely damage you. The peaceful ones just wander the planet, oblivious to you. Space flight is terrible, as every ship, from the smallest fighter to the slightly less small (but still single person) freighter you can fly are all identical in every way, minus cargo space. There's no crafting, no survival, no enemies, no flight, no RPG, no NPCs, no story, no adventure, no exploring, no danger, and nothing interesting outside of the first hour of gameplay. DO NOT waste your money. I haven't even gotten into the performance issues on PC, but I'm out of space in

Huge space sandbox with very little sand
I stayed away at the original launch due to the poor reviews. Since the Atlas update and discount, I decided to give it a try. NMS is deceptively shallow considering its scope. There's frankly very little to do, even with the Artemis missions and base building added. The missions are extremely limited and worst of all, cyclic. No matter how many times you start a new game or change the difficulty, the exploration and base building will have the exact same missions each time. So in base building it goes like this - build basic structures, plop down some terminals, hire specialists, do specialist missions, gather new blueprints to upgrade parts and buildings, rinse and repeat until finished. And it's like that EVERY SINGLE GAME. There's to divergence, no real randomness, despite the game's promises. The worlds themselves are basically the same. There's a few categories for planets, and each biome falls into these similar patterns. Dry arid, lush paradise, cold ice, and so on. That's it. There's no brown dwarfs, no gas giants, and even the planet sizes seem to fit to the same mold. The life forms follow the same pattern as well. 2 and 4 legged animals will dot the landscape of even the hottest or coldest of planets, yet they hardly vary at all, with the same pre-fabricated prototypes given only a few cosmetic differences. No giant fish, no packs of carnivorous dinosaurs, and certainly no infamous sand snakes. Lots of hot and cold planets with space cows roaming the surface. That seems to be the structure for NMS's entire galaxy. There may be wild variations out there, but after journeying to several different systems and cataloging numerous planets, I have yet to find any. No Man's Sky has amazing potential, but right now it's nothing more than a framework to which a good game could be attached. Perhaps with future updates or expansions it will become the game it was intended to be. For now it's giant toy box with a very poor selection of toys inside it.
