Great classic RPG game! Always fun to come back to!

I write the review, after having tried the EE. If not because one wants to play multi, I'll stick to this version. The game is a very good CRPG that implements the D&D 3.5 system (a little less broken than the 3.0) OC campaign is great, with bastion defense, good companions and so on, you will go from level 1 to 20. There are tieflings, aasimars etc... One of the downsides of the OC campaign is that the first cleric companion appears during act 3 (of 5), and the only healer companion until then is a druid, so... main Clerics and favoured souls get an edge. The mask of the betrayer expansion, which seems a continuation of the OC campaign is also great, it the the high level campaign, beginning at level 18. (i am 25 in my run right now). Downside is the devouring mechanism, which can be de activated. It seems that the IA of the companions is well done in this expansion according to my friends (I prefer controlling everything) Storm of Zehir seems to tell a new story unrelated to the previous ones, where you you can create 4 characters from the get go, and directly at level 4. Cannot say much about the story at the moment.

Trying to play the game and the characters move like it's a slide show. Can't find a fix that's not from 15 years ago.

They updated the game 2 months ago and it completely bricked the game's functionality. It crashes on launch, crashes in menus, permanently freezes the screen, and more. To fix this, you need to go into GOG Galaxy, right click NWN2 in your library, click manage installation, configure, and then towards the bottom there should be a section for Auto updates. Untick 'Automatically update to newest version' and click the bubble for 'Version 1.23' that was created years ago, and this will fix the game. Then the game should perform fine with the client extender installed, which is extremely necessary for this broken and buggy title.
