Neurodeck: Psychological Deckbuilder

The number of rogue lite deck builders is large, but only few are really good - this is one of the weaker ones. The concept is nice: Fighting phobias, having story/psychological context feels fresh. But there is no depth in it, its rather stereotypical. The game mechanics are rather common: You attack the phobias, which have HP and block, you have action points and energy, the deck evolves throughout a run, there is meta-progress unlocking new cards and monsters (phobias) and there is a lot of randomness. The game combines some nice ideas (nothing really new though) but really lacks some polishing. In particular the balancing is way off. There are some combinations that are really overpowered and some cards that are rather weak. As most deckbuilders we have here a combination of your choices and the random number generator, so success in the game comes from a mix of strategy and luck. For my personal taste, it is too much based on luck. User interface has some flaws, too. It looks a bit chaotic and what is the worst: If you get a new trait, you have to click equip before hitting the big continue button, else it is just lost. What is nice: There are different emotions with slightly different bonus and starting deck and a second character with an additional stacking mechanic and different cards. It does not take too long until you have seen almost everything, but I think that this is good. Forcing players to grind for meta-progression wouln't have been good for that game. More different characters and play styles could have been nice, but certainly not at the cost of even worse balancing. If you are really into exploring all the different deckbuilders that exist, it can be an intersting experience, but besides from the scenario, don't expect anything new or special from this one, that had not been done better already by another game.

I've played hundreds of hours to Slay The Spire. This game is pretty far from it. While it presents interesting mechanics and multiple ways to win, they lack depth. It's quite short too. I beated the game in 7h, with max resiliense level (similar to ascension in StS). It gives the feeling it really need more content. The music is quite repetitive. But the graphics are nice, and the ambience too.

Game is basically Unity clone of slay the spire, made by someone who played celeste? Game could really use updates and development care Technical errors: when i mouse over options my screen literally start twitching and sometimes spawn weird artifacts that are hard to even describe OBS can't hold recording as i would like, i literally got corrupted video right at the end, where audio was going normally... Naturally this is not a case with any othr game i played game is slow..for an Unity card game, its way too slow and badly functioning Game problems: i won 2 times and had like 6 runs, i still can't unlock new hero! i have to sacrifice runs to unlock cards?? WHY? - there are this bullshit survey to unlock cards for future runs, it gives me nothing for now, all cards are ????? so i don't even know what i can get... any progress is super slow, why do i even play it other problems: one of the enemies is literally called masculinity? WTF game? "masculinity grow stronger with each turn you ignore it" there is nothing wrong with masculinity, just because some people like being strong and well-shaped it does not need to have effect on you...how is that even a phobia? maybe i just display my ignorance, but this is how i saw it One of the phobias is portrait as pregnant woman in pain and belly screaming and crying? very disturbing image, i kind of don't expected to play deadly premonition artwork reject xD Sometimes pulling up monster-diary or trait menu make the game not show buttons to hide them back... Game lack polish and looks like abandonment project Game is not that deep! all you do is just COUNTING HP... in slay the spire some heroes need to wonder how they will play their entire deck 3 times in a row for 4 mana, here you draw 3 cards and have 3 actions... Playing it was painful, slow, uneventful, frustrating and leave me worse than if i would never pick it up, seriously you gotta stop with suffering fetuses inside woman artworks... 4/10 because it could be good.

Probably one of the worst turn based card games I've played, you have mechanics like stamina and sanity (health) but your opponents are going to be out damaging you every single time compared to your cards that do a pathetic 6 damage vs their actions that do regularly 40+ stamina or sanity often coming with status effects.

I love gameplay, deck management and character development, but there is one bug I cannot overlook. Game does not unlock other emotions for Jupiter so I can basically play only 4/6 of scenarios. There are other, mostly cosmetic bugs. I hope in future other characters and phobias will be added since I see a lot of potential in this game. As someone who likes challenge I like that you can unlock further difficulties (aka resilience levels).
