one of my favorite games
i bought this game off of a whim thinking it was gonna be maybe a 30 minute experience, but boy was i wrong if you havent already you should definitly buy this game.

a golden nugget
When this game came out, I was thrilled. :D this game had proven quality with the price and the first mount and balde game. (just be warry of the expansion packs) This game gives free space in a sandbox world. it is here you can make your destiny, and form your self as tou want it. There is even coming a new version soon with better looking. I am so much looking forward to play it :D

All-time great
This game (and it's precedessor) is easily the game of the last decade for me, I don't even want to know how much time I spent on it. The good: - best melee simulation - best archery method - most satisfying mounted combat - brilliant mod support - good game systems - while the AI is very bad at tactics, charging a shield wall with two hundred of your men following you is brilliant The bad: - the basic game ("native") is a bit bland - some game systems could use some additional features (such as your wife or improving your holdings) - responsiveness of the game world is not good. (you defeat a lord army, he is back with the same numbers within a week) - graphics are mediocre, even for an old game To be honest I don't really play the basic game, and mods do offer solution for problems. Recommendations: Gekokujo (the original), The Last Days, Deeds of arms and chivalry, Chronicles of Might and Magic

Good sequel to a great game
I LOVED Mount and Blade, although it had its limitations. You couldn't become king, for instance. While retaining almost all of the aspects which made M and B a classic detailed in the other reviews here (I still prefer the original), Warband allows you to create your own kingdom. Unfortunately, the kingdom management aspects can get to be more annoying than fun, and the constant defection of lords to other factions reaches the point of absurdity when you're fighting a faction that has more foreign-born lords than from its own lands, fielding troops of their own culture instead of their adopted one.
