This game is about me in past and millions other people who everyday go to their job which they dislike.
The main idea of this game is that every man should find their own job and place in our world according to their character.
It's wonderful story about how a little man, find strength of will to change his life and begin live!
I recommend this game for all people who dislike their job and dream about new life!
Now that was different... In terms of pure gameplay, Mosaic is somewhat lacking due to slow pace, very linear story and few (if any) choices to make. But it has such a unique art style, deep mood and some genuinely touching moments that I still enjoyed it in the end. One thing that really annoyed me was how useless the phone was (though this was probably intentional). In a game where loneliness and isolation is an overarching theme, it just felt really weird that you have people texting you but absolutely no option to reply. Also, the 1% DLC seems utterly useless so I'd advice against it. And there are just too many "placeholders" in general (spoilers follow) - you can open a fridge but there's never anything to interact with inside. You can open a mailbox but there's always the same bills to which your character always reacts the same. You have a "love app" where you can rate potential matches with yes or no - and that's it - you'll never hear from any of them... I understand that all of this is probably meant to further emphasize the meaningless of the main protagonist's life but it still annoyed me because you can't interact with almost anything - so it sucks when even of the few things that suggest interaction, most of them basically do nothing. Still, like I said, if you're willing to accept those quirks, it's an interactive piece of dark surreal art worth experiencing. Some of the scenes are truly stunning (largely due to great use of lighting)! Also, one review compares it to Every Day the Same Dream so I gave it a try and I have to say that such comparison is rather unfair. Sure, Mosaic seems to be inspired by EDtSD - but Mosaic pushes the vision so much further that it's definitelty not just "a 3D remake of it". Anyway, if you've ever felt alienated in today's world and society, give Mosaic a shot - chances are you'll like it...
This game basically has two messages.
Message 1: Modern life is pointless (let's go back to the good times of war, famine and disease that are more interesting and exciting for our animal instincts).
Message 2: Capitalism is evil (this game is obviously made by first world citizens who never had to live in the misery, oppression and witch hunts of communism, a system that usually kills, robs, rapes and restricts anyone who stands out of the grey crowd even a little.)
The artwork is good. The gameplay is boring (even though this is intentional). The message is revolting to anyone who has a good knowledge of history and a basis to compare mundane first world problems to the inescapable reality of our cruel universe.
Bottom line: I don't think that anti-capitalists deserve your money.
