Moonlighter

I was a Kickstarter backer, and I wasn't sure I had made a good choice at first, during the beta, but now I'm glad I backed this game. It's incredibly addictive, with that "just one more turn" gameplay mechanic (like Stardew, or Civilization). I'm not horribly far into the game yet, but it seems like there's a good bit of variety, at least for this style of game, and the game does a good job of introducing it over time instead of dumping everything on you at once. Regarding the dungeon-diving part, the game is challenging without being punishing. I've only played a tiny bit of Isaac, but I would say Moonlighter is much less hardcore, though still not a casual game. The controls seem responsive enough for the level of difficulty. And although you are, in a certain way, under a timer when in any particular dungeon, you don't really feel rushed. One last thing, if you're a mouse-and-keyboard type of person, don't try to fight it, just use a controller. I tried to use the keyboard and hated the game. I gave up and used a controller and loved the game. The keyboard interface is really terrible.

go dungeons and get stuff to sell in your own store made this game unique. simple and short history. nice graphics and controls (with control pad). if you die in dungeon lost all collects in bag, thats remenber me dark souls.

I like the idea of the game. I love it in fact, the graphics are cute and fluid. It flows well and while the control scheme is different it reminds me of older games from the 90s where you didn't use a mouse. I was used to it and it's fine. However, what overshadows the nice graphics and fun and story... the bugs. This game is buggy. It is so buggy that it's game breaking sometimes. It's bad. Infinite money bugs, infinite items bugs. Freezing, getting stuck and reloading bugs, item duplication bugs, selling bugs, buying bugs. It would be easier to make a list of the game mechanics that work properly than ones that are bugged. I really hope they don't let it stay like this. Please patch it. If patched it could be a wonderful game. But right now I just cannot enjoy it since every moment I play I'll be trying to avoid bugs. Buy at your own risk.

Moonlighter is a treasure! 4 day nonstop playing and finish the game. Really fun and relax game with trading and hunting. I want more!

great game, well crafted. exceptional animation work. I've loved the mashup of sim and action gameplay ever since the first Actraiser, and while the sim portions were different, the combo reminds me of that in a very good way. only thing really missing is character customization. there was nothing in the game design or writing that required having a fixed character design, and the protagonist is very generic and boring. hopefully their next game will correct this.
