Once this city used to pulse with energy - dirty and dangerous - but alive and wonderful. Now it is something else.
In a city where information is heavily monitored, agile couriers called Runners transport sensitive data away from prying eyes.
In this seemingly utopian paradise, a crime has been committed, your sister has been framed and now you are being hunted.
You are a Runner called Faith - and this innovative first-person action-adventure is your story.
Mirror’s Edge™ delivers you straight into the shoes of this unique heroine as she traverses the vertigo-inducing cityscape, engaging in intense combat and fast paced chases. With a never before seen sense of movement and perspective, you will be drawn into Faith’s world. A world that is visceral, immediate, and very dangerous.
Live or die? Soar or plummet? One thing is certain, in this city you will learn how to run.
Move yourself: String together an amazing arsenal of wall-runs, leaps, vaults and more, in fluid, acrobatic movements that turns every level of the urban environment to your advantage and salvation.
Immerse yourself: In first person every breath, every collision, every impact is acutely felt. Heights create real vertigo, movements flow naturally, collisions and bullet impacts create genuine fear and adrenaline.
Challenge yourself: Fight or flight. Your speed and agility allow you not only to evade, capture and perform daring escapes, but also to disable and disarm unwary opponents, in a mix of chase, puzzles, strategy and intense combat.
Free Yourself: Runner vision allows you to see the city as they do. See the flow. Rooftops become pathways and conduits, opportunities and escape routes. The flow is what keeps you running – what keeps you alive.
The keyboard/mouse controls are so badly done as to make me wonder why they even added them. In the tutorial, which is as far as I could tolerate the interface, only controller buttons are given for what to use, regardless of what method of control you're using.
I bought it as 85% off, and still feel like it's the worst $3.89 I ever spent. I can't honestly say I would recommend buying, or even playing, this game to anyone.
This was a game I was looking to play for a really long time but it ultimately disappointed me. Although the game promises thrilling action set pieces filled with parkour, I was instead met with an interesting mishmash of ideas that were poorly executed.
For one, it's really hard to get any sense of speed. This is mainly because it's also not always clear where you must go and what you need to do. It slows the pace of the game down drastically and makes it super frustrating as you are trying to figure out what to do. While "Runner Vision" should highlight objects you can interact with, there were several instances where this didn't happen which makes the problem worse.
On the other hand, the combat in this game is really rudimentary. It was, by far, what I hated the most in this game. The game tries to be overly realistic, so there is no health bar or ammo meter (for any guns). All of the guns are also single-use only, which means you have to dump them after the ammo runs out. Since you have no way of knowing how much ammo is left in one gun, it's difficult to know how long you can last in a battle. The "countering" system is one more thing that is super finicky and requires absolute precision.
In the end, all of this kind of breaks your momentum and causes you to slow down. I applaud this game for experimenting with some interesting concepts for its time, but the final product was far from satisfactory for me.
This is obviously some sort of parkour simulator with decent graphics. I give it 3/5 because other people have enjoyed it. I had a disturbing experience despite being adept in action gaming. During tutorial I couldn't perform a "skill roll" in 40+ attempts. After searching internet for solution I have figured out that was an issue for many players as question appears on different sites. As "holding left shift *really* close to the ground" did no good for me - I have removed this game after only 15 minutes of playing.
While the concept is original and exciting, the execution just isn't there. Mechanics that don't trigger half of the time, repetitive level design, and combat sections that border on unplayable hinder this game from reaching it's full potential.
In this moment i no buy ME, is too much for me, becose i have copy of mirrors edge on (origin -.-) when price will be good i buy it ! or maybe i can take cd-key from box to take it :D
