Men of War: Red Tide is a sequel to the critically acclaimed RTS Men of War. Red Tide introduces a new story driven campaign based on the writings of Soviet scribe Alexander Zorich, it also includes dozens of new or upgraded units and weapons.
Men of War: Red Tide is a stunning mixture of RTS and a third-person action that introduces a new fighting force known for its brutal efficiency during the height of World War II. Played out across more than 20 missions, Men of War: Red Tide allows to take command of the feared "Black Coats," the nickname given to Soviet Marines, an elite combat group specializing in engagements near the shoreline.
The player has direct control of new game units including the Black Coats, tanks, self-propelled guns, armored trains, landing craft, artillery and new enemy emplaced weapons to capture and use. New air support options include fighters, bombers, hydroplanes; cruisers, destroyers and gun boats which provide naval fire support.
Fighting during the Black Sea Campaigns of WWII, history buffs and WWII aficionados will recognize theaters of battle such as Odessa, Sevastopol, Theodosia, Eltingen, Nikolaev and Constanta.

Amazing game! I loved Assault Squad for multiplayer, but this is awesome for singleplayer experience. Game is very hard, but not impossible. It's just needs a lot of learning, and get used to save and load missions over and over again. It seems to be that AI is little more stupid than in Assault Squad. Specially for shooting enemies without orders in trenches. Otherwise it does it's job well.
Voice acting in this game is awful like in every MOW game. The best way to make the game more enjoyable, is install game first in English language, copy localization.pak file to e.g. desktop. Then uninstall game, and install it again in Russian language, place localization.pak from desktop to game folder, and you get English texts and subtitles, but voice acting is in Russian, which is much more better.
This is my favorite game from the series, not counting Men of War (
06.06.2009). In the game we will play for the Black Sea Fleet. The struggle for the Black Sea against the Romanian, Italian and German fascists. But in this game we can only play for the Red Army. I spent 33 hours to complete this game. I think you can do it faster if you don’t spare every soldier like me. I really liked the fact that in this series of games there are a few mistakes (you understand me if you played in parts like Vietnam and Condemned Heroes). As a result, we have 23 interesting missions. I like in the games of Men of War that developers implement many historical battles (and only in this game can we play for Leonid Brezhnev!) I recommend this game > 4 stars from me. (I didn't want to hurt anyone with my review.)
I was really surprised, now I know where the Condemned Heroes stuff comes from. This part is the most difficult of all so far, the campaign is very tough, the Romanians are very dirty and vile opponents, the Germans are very merciless, and the Italians were a pleasure to fight against.

-Finally, not just the usual "it's the Germans again." The Romanian and Italian fronts were interesting and had a great atmosphere.
-Minimal story and "protagonist" characters.
-Atmospheric, exciting, difficult, but not annoying. You have to fight really hard to win here, but it's -worth it.
The creators must really like the topic, because there is an encyclopedia, and this sailor thread is very detailed in it.
- A very diverse arsenal of weapons.
Neg
- Soviet weapons are sometimes surprisingly inaccurate.
- The sometimes "immortal" German soldiers through whose body the bullet goes and their friends the "ghost tanks."
-Sometimes the game takes itself too seriously and rushes.
-The ready-made answer syndrome appears here as well, but you can prepare for it here.
- The annoying action-interrupting cutscene cameras.
Overall? After Soldiers and Condemned Heroes, it is the third best, fantastic part of the series! If you don't like difficult games or mean opponents, avoid it, but far away! But anyone who likes the Second World War, is a bit bored with the "only Germans" syndrome, likes the challenge or the Men of War games is simply unmissable. I admit I was a little afraid of him because of the comments, but I was right. It has its faults, sometimes it's annoying, but it's atmospheric, exciting, it can show something new even within the Second World War, it's diverse and it's simply the perfect teacher who teaches you how to fight hard and grit your teeth for a victory that you're happy to achieve and proud of yourself. 5/4.7
Whether you like Men of War or not, if you think it's a good game, you should get this expansion. I got this on sale, and played 2 minutes of the campaign. I don't intend to play any more, but the intro video alone is worth it. I don't think I have ever seen more historic WW2 footage in a game, let alone in one intro video. This is a game made with love, a love for Mother Russia.
Awful. Most missions are impossible even on the easy mode. Loved all the other MOW games until the interface became corrupt (un-installed twice). Screwed up a great series. Waste of money.
