Medieval Dynasty is a survival RPG that manages to stand out in the oversaturated market that it occupies. By combining ideas from several other popular franchises, developer Render Cube has managed to create a genuinely unique product. Its story hardly stacks up against AAA RPGs like The Elder Scrolls but it's good enough given the game's many other strengths.

Like some sort of peasant Animal Crossing, Medieval Dynasty casts us in the role of mayor of Dysentery Village. You'll slowly grow from labor-intensive shacks to a semi-self-sufficient hamlet through the sweat of your brow, building a dynasty that will last generations. You'll just wish your peons would pitch in and carry their own water...and stop eating the buckets.

Ridiculous GPU requirement

The game requires ridiculously beefy GPU hardware to run, and the graphics don't justify it one bit. Unfortunately games like that annoy me immensely. Pass. On high, it looks as good as say Battlefront 2 (2017), which runs perfectly fine however the recommended GPU is a 1060. You'll be lucky to get 60fps on low/medium with a 1060. Even on Ultra with a 3080, you'll only be getting around 90fps at 1080p which is ridiculous. Sad to see what is clearly a very detailed and interesting medieval world, being unable to be enjoyed due to poor performance for the graphics available.

Good blend of survival/RPG/Colony Sim

Its one of the stronger representatives of the survival genre, with some interesting asprects of a medieval RPG and a colony sim. Extra points for the developer to improve the game post release, especially adding a multiplayer to it. I do want to deduct one point though, because actually placing your buildings feels a bit clunky. This is doubly true for fields and orchards, which cannot be rotated.

52 hours and still counting!

I can not for the life of me remember ever playing a game in beta for 52 hours before. That good is this game! Well worth the money and then some!

Great game as far as a city builder

Love this game for its idea on city building. Something definitely need some fine tuning. Like resource managment while in your city, should be able to build/repair without the item in your physical inventory. More things should be added as far as village defence and equiping villagers with weapons etc, having guard towers and all. At its present state you would really have no reason to build a wall unless simple astetics. But it would be great to see city raid in the future. Id recommend this game to anyone that likes city builders!!
