Amazing
This game has not yet been emulated to a sufficient degree by modern games, and remains a one-of-a-kind classic. Its easy to understand, yet rather complex game play leads to a very fulfilling experience. It is also one of the only turn-based strategy games that allows one to play in both a wide and tall gameplay style. If you only have 1-3 towns, you can still beat an enemy with many towns, and visa versa.

Worth it
A classic that was referred to me by a friend a long time ago. It's a great strategy classic. You choose your head wizard and his/her skills and then try to conquer all the others on the board. Either through brute force or a combination of treaties and the like. Hours and hours and hours of fun to be had with this classic title.

Godlike
One of the best 4X games I've ever played. In many ways, I found it more satisfying than even the might Civilization series. Having multiple base races to choose from, and the ability to create your wizard, and thus potentially create radically different tech trees every time, means that there's a lot more replay value than you're likely to see almost anywhere else.

Before Civ, there was MoM
Even though the two series coexisted, I only started playing Civ a few years after discovering MoM and I have never found a game so perfectly suited to my personal tastes since this one. The closest would be the HoMM series, but it still cannot take the crown.
