Mad Max

Currently playing on Steam and this games is one my favorite games. You MUST play this with either a Xbox or Dual Shock 4 or Dual Sense controller is my recommendation. I play with DS4 but I need to put Steams DS4 support off otherwise I get XB button prompts which sucks. Without Steams DS4 support I can't assign screenshots to Share button which sucks big time! In this game, you definitely want to take screenshot! WD Games - PLEASE release a 60fps patch for PS5 and XB Series!!! The skybox is phenomenally beautiful, the combat is similar to assassin's creed but feels much better and it amazes me. Made by a good team of Swedish people from Avalanche who worked on x and Just Cause people who on Just Cause games and Chronicles of Riddick which I guess is where the inspiration comes from, except the movies which I have never seen but you can tell the team really loves the games. https://youtu.be/PmSS76UnV-w

Controls were easy to learn, story was engaging. Graphics were very good and the gameplay is very good as well. It will suck you in while playing so manage your time because it is good at a lot of things. Thank you GoG!

Maybe it's unfair to give this game 5/5 stars, considering I have many complaints about it. To wit: - The game is overly long. When you feel you might be near the ending it turns out you're barely starting. The map is huge, and there are a lot of things to do, but it's Ubisoft-y in its design, where a lot of the side-quests and collectibles are repetitive. - The game suffers from a lot of bugs. Sometimes you'll get stuck on the scenery, sometimes loot will disappear and require a mission restart, sometimes a mission cue won't happen and again you'll be forced to restart to continue, a few unlockables that should provide you with extra resources seem to do nothing, etc. - While visually fine, there's no hiding the fact that the main character looks nothing like either actor who played it in the movies. - While par for the course on a post-apocalyptic game, there's a lot of driving in large patches of empty desert with nothing interesting on sight. Yet despite all of these issues I keep finding myself drawn to the game. It's repetitive, but it never feels boring. It's buggy, but rarely infuriating. There's a lot of padding, but the gameplay is just really fun. And if I'm gonna rate a game on how much fun I'm getting out of it rather than on its technical pros and cons, well, this game truly deserves it.

So, this is pretty nice open world, on a fascinating setting. As iconic as the franchise of Mad Max is, this game provides a true experience, respectful of the world's narrative and mythos. It is an action game, with a fight system similar to the Batman Arkham series, and The Mordor games, which is pretty neat. It makes the fighting sequences both fluid and rewarding, with a Rage system that allows you to devastate mercillesly your opponents. Driving your car around will be a huge part of the game, but the vehicle control feels clumsy at times, depending on the configuration of your metal beast. It adds to the depth of the amount of customization you add to your vehicle. Voice acting ain't awesome, but it's not bad. Graphics are pretty good, with explotions, fire, debris and smoke being a fundamental part of the action. The environment is interesting and challenging at times. Now to the downside: Mad is simply the clumsiest, less athletic hero on any game I've ever played. No parkour at all, limiting your options of movement to walls specifically made to climb, or ladders. He jumps as if he had both legs broken, and the use of the shotgun isn't as intuitive as you'd expect. But this is not the reason I give it only 3 stars. Glitches that would prevent advancing on unlocking car parts and progress towards reducing enemy influence are too common. I had one of the forts glitching and never being marked as completed, which screwed that section of the map and the whole region, then at the end of the game, a minefield simply did not get marked as completed, screwing a second region and not allowing me to get the most powerful engine for the car. While these glitches are not "game breaking" and you will be able to continue with the story, for me it was a huge letdown, to see lots and lots of forums with dozens of users complaining about these issues and the developer simply not addressing them ever. Overall, the game is really enjoyable, but glitchy AF.

controls can be frusterating at times, most of the plot is about max (you) getting revenge for stealing your car (on nearly everyone, even those not involved). Open world, but some invisible walls can be frusterating. A lot of the baddies are identical, just different models/textures & sometimes more powerful.
