Mediocre-to-bad game w/ nuggets of good
First and foremost: this is not a MAP (pedophile) game; people saying that are flat-out wrong. It's directed at younger audiences; not everything has to be made for *your* demographic. It's not even remotely sexual in any way (iirc there's like an acknowledgement of the phenomenon of kissing and the presence of a school dance), so I don't understand where people are even getting that. Please realize that the internet isn't just for adults; kids and teens deserve to be allowed to explore these themes and have stories that exist for them. That said, it isn't a great game, and it is absolutely not a $15 game. I played this game when it was on the App Store for like $3 per episode in like 2017, and I got it again coincidentally in a charity bundle on itch.io a few months back, so I have both perspectives. I liked it well enough as a 15 year old, but it doesn't hold up at all in my 20s. LS features themes that could be valuable for a younger audience (e.g. learning disabilities, homophobia, transphobia, communication, culture shock, bullying, self-expression, gender and sexuality, online relationships, etc), but it's not particularly well-written, the code and UI are clearly held together by tape and prayer, there are typos, and it's overpriced, particularly given that it's for a younger demographic that may not have a great grasp on pricing. If you're a teen/tween looking for a low stakes school story with some memorable characters (for better or for worse) and simple, accessible storytelling, go for it. Just wait for a sale. If you're older or looking for something artistic or mature with writing that can engage avid/advanced readers, maybe sit this one out. 2/5 stars for attempt at interpersonal lessons and narratives obstructed by poor writing quality, high price, and graphical/technical issues.
