The masked protagonist must escape from a city ravaged by disease, by any means necessary. Starving and exhausted, he has begun to question how much of what he sees is even real. How to survive is up to YOU. Sneak through without firing a single shot, or kill everything in your path. Eat and sleep well, or resort to drugs to keep going. Search for survivors, or try to escape the city alone. Look after your mental health, or descend into madness...
Lone Survivor is an unusual mix of survival horror, stealth mechanics, adventure games, a virtual pet, a physical and psychological survival simulation and a truly interactive story. The player is encouraged to role-play and forget about the game's inner workings, while the story changes to match the player's actions. This is a game where your choices genuinely matter.
Contains approximately 35 original pieces of music from UK charting producer Jasper Byrne.
A brave and adult story with warmth, humor, and even hope to be found within the darkness. A unique visual style mixing classic and modern techniques with over 125 beatiful hand-painted locations.
The Director's Cut also includes two entirely new endings, new Easter eggs, two new side quests, new dialogue for all the characters, and more!

Annoying gameplay with lousy controls. I slogged through so I could finish the story and find out what was going on. I never did. All of the endings are complete nonsense. Play Home for a similar idea executed better (and at a better price.)
Decent horror game but by the end almost everything gets rendered meaningless. It tried to be deep but then didn't and ended up being shallow. I wanted to play a character who dealt with a post-apocalyptic world while trying to preserve his sanity and humanity, not have it all rendered meaningless by the end of the game.
The cat was rendered meaningless because of course the pain of having to deal with a lost one is the main focus of the story. The Director was rendered meaningless because of course the pain of having to deal with a lost one is the main focus of the story. All the fucked up shit was of course a representation of the pain of having to deal with a lost one. When someone close to you dies, your world becomes a fucking post-apocalyptic landscape. What was the point of having the post-apocalyptic setting? Green/nurture means you get to move on from the pain? Blue/nature means you don't? What the fuck am I reading?
This game could've been shortened to maybe three pages of words. Everything else is meaningless filler.
Graphics aren't everything in a game, that's for sure. What really matters is the gameplay. But this sort of a "game" fails in everything. What you get is this:
(1) A crappy story that even a 7-years old child could do better in a matter of minutes. Compelling? You must be kidding.
(2) One-dimensional gameplay that simply fails to deliver the slightest feeling, other than you wasted your money to buy this thing. You basically move from room to room (which is viewed from the side so you just move left or right), avoiding battle and solving silly puzzles.
(3) The worst graphics ever. Over-pixelated on purpose, or because the developer couldn't do anything better than that. I was never a fan of eye-candy, but the graphics are so bad that you can barely read the text on your screen, or figure out what that 7x7 pixels item in your inventory is. The "pixel" on your screen is basically a huge square, so big that reminded me the "graphics" of Sinclair ZX-81, back in 1981.
(4) Apparently, the developer thinks he made a masterpiece, and sells it for an exorbitant price. He even recommends to play this game with dime lights to "enhance the experience". What experience? Playing a crappy game? Scary? Give me a break. How huge pixels, bland story, primitive gameplay, boring ambient sounds and almost non-existent music can deliver anything scary is beyond me.
How THIS thing could get positive reviews, I don't know. But the fact is, we are talking about pure garbage here. And at a price that's just ridiculously high. I wouldn't have the motivation to finish this "game" even if they paid me money.
The only reason I give it one star is because the review system doesn't let me rating it for 0/5 stars, which is exactly what this thing deserves.
The game is so short, you can finish in 1 day! The extra content is a joke:
> 1 cheeseburguer.
> You can offer sleepy cat to people, and they say NO. That's the only dialogue lines added in director's cut. Pathetic.
> Only one music added to the game, which doesn't fit (Why ruin the atmosphere of the game?).
And why so expensive? Definitely not worth it.
I realy cannot understand the high ratings this ... eh...game?...gets from most reviewers. I didn´t find the atmosphere everyone is talking about.
All I found is a crappy set of controls, the graphics seem to be inspired by Nintendos first generation gameboy, the dialogs are hard to read and the praised music is nothing but a pain in my ears.
I am sorry for the money I´ve wasted, but I am not going to not waste more precious time on this "masterpiece".
Maybe some will say I am a moron or something worse, but the only thing I have to say is: Do not buy.
